Chapter 10: Stronger together than apart
Kim's POV
We are all currently in Jack's back yard in swimming attire and I am doing various strength trainings with everyone so they will be stronger mer warriors.
Mika: Kim, when do we start to develop our powers?
Me: When the Mer in you is ready then your powers will reveal themselves. No sooner. No later.
She looks unhappy and walks away to get water.
Julie: Kim, what are all of your powers?
Me: I can control the weather and all of the elements.
Jerry: Show us!
I proceed to show them partially what I am capable of and they are all blown away.
Rudy: I wish I had cool powers..
Me: Don't worry Rudy. All things take time. However with this battle we are facing your powers need to be uncovered. Now.
Julie: But how?
Me: Easy! You have to be in danger.
They think about it for awhile when Jack speaks up.
Jack: What do we have to do?
Me: You have to fight me. Under water.
They all look scared but determined. I know they will be great fighters.
Me: Alright who wants to go first?
Milton steps forward timidly.
Milton: I will.
We get in a fighting stance and I whip around bringing a ribbon of fire gracefully whipping around me. Milton looks scared but comes at me. My fire doesn't burn unless I let it. I smack Milton's arm and he looks down not seeing a burn. He comes at me again. This goes on for awhile until I have him pinned down.
Me: Rule number 1. Never let your enemy pin you down.
I get up and Milton gets back in line.

Jack steps forward.
We dive into the water.
I swirl the water around him. It starts to suck him down but the water suddenly stops moving. It freezes. The whirlpool cocoon shatters. When Hack is revealed he has blue markings on his grey tail. He has powers of ice. I nod at him and we get out.
Me: Congrats Jack. You have ice powers.
After a while I get through everyone. Mika has power over precipitative weather. Julie has power over animals. Rudy and Jerry both got earth powers. And Milton went again and got power over the mind.
I realized something today. With all the different powers we will be more powerful together than apart.
Hey guys. Sorry it's been so long. I've been working on my other story. But now that it's done I can finally focus on finishing this book.
