MAEVE REALLY WANTED TO GO HOME, but she was not allowed to as the apparent radioactive waves that were surrounding her, which cause most people (besides Bruce) to vomit and/or pass out. There hadn't been any significant physical changes in Maeve but she felt lighter and more awake than she usually is. "There is something wrong about her, Sam. The number of waves she's been taking can only be survived if she was from outer space, it's as strong as pure galactic rays. When...Tony snapped his fingers, he couldn't take the strength from it. But she can." Bruce remarked. Sam was shocked, "So you're telling me she's from space?" Sam really was astonished, how could she take energy stronger than the most powerful forces in the world?" Bucky scoffed, "Bruce is probably overstating it. If that was actually true, right now, she'd be six feet under." Maeve tapped on the glass cage with her long nails.

"You know I can hear you right? You turned off the noise canceling function. And trust me, I am NOT from space."

Bruce looked down, a bit embarrassed. "I'm sorry, Miss Conner, but we just can't figure out what's causing you to absorb all of this energy. Can we talk to your parents, maybe? This seems to be a genetic trait." Maeve's tense demeanor dropped, "My mom's dead, and my dad was never around. So no, I guess." She looked down at her lap as if it was the only interesting thing in the entire world. "I see, well, we have your blood samples and all that jazz. We just can't let you go." Said Sam.

"Why the hell not?"

"Because you'd kill everyone," Bucky answered for Bruce. Maeve rolled her eyes, "It's not like I want to!" She was getting angry "We know, Maeve. But I'm sorry, we have to keep you in a controlled facility. I'm trying to find you a cure for this. Have you been feeling anything peculiar lately?" She sat down in her leather recliner in the middle of the glass cage. She didn't want to feel like a lab rat. "Nothing much, my stomach kinda hurts from time to time, like waves of pain, but that's probably the salsa talking."

A man with slicked-back black hair, holding a bag of Taco Bell walked in. "Hey, guys," Scott said, not really looking up. "You should see the shit they've been doing to these tacos. I mean- come on- really?! Vegan tacos? Nasty." He finally looked up when Bruce cleared his throat.

"Who the hell is that?" asked Scott, referring to the tiny, slender female behind the glass. "My name's Maeve. Nice to meet you too, man." She replied, offering a sarcastic smile.

"I like her," Scott remarked, sending her a smile back. Sam rolled his eyes, "I've got some business to do with Fury, I'm going to be back for dinner-but don't wait up for me." As he walked away, Bucky gathered his things and headed to the door as well. "I'm gonna head upstairs to the gym." As he walked out he muttered, "Should have stayed in Wakanda." Which confused Maeve, annoyed Bruce, and humored Scott.

As Bruce updated Scott on their current situation, Maeve paced around the cage. "Y'know, you'd think with all the colorful personalities y'all have, you couldn't have stopped to make your prisoner cage a little less bleak?" Said Maeve. Scott snickered as Bruce shook his head, he was so done with today. "Bruce, I've seen these types of blasts in the quantum realm, only they weren't so deadly." Scott nonchalantly said. Bruce went silent for a while, gears turning in his brains. Suddenly, he lit up like a Christmas tree.

"I got it!"

Maeve stared at the small, hockey puck-like device. "So what is this again?" She observed it, the device seemed quite practical to her. "It's yours, I call it the Radioactive Energy Dilater, or R.E.D for short," replied Bruce. He was quite proud of the small little object, considering he's worked three consecutive days to create such an intricate thing. "You put it on your chest." He explained. Maeve was a bit reluctant to try it on, but with all of the four men in the room working hard to do it, she pressed it against her chest and it stuck to her, with blue light glowing in the middle. A holographic sheen covered her entire body before disappearing.

"Huh, it kinda looks like Iron Man's chest thingy," Maeve said to herself. When she looked up at the men, they all looked uncomfortable. As she realized what she said, she felt terrible. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't mean to." She apologized. Bruce coughed, trying desperately to relieve the conversation of its awkwardness. "Well, uh, the R.E.D has some particles from the quantum realm I had Scott retrieve. It seems to react well with your radio waves. This device keeps the toxicity from your molecules at bay." Bucky stared at the device, it reminded him so much of Tony Stark, and he felt so bad; especially after the fight he caused with Captain America. Flashbacks of Thanos flooded his mind and it angered him.

"So I can come out now? I've been in here for days, and quite frankly, I'm getting tired of staring at you guys every day."

Sam nodded, "Just to be careful, we're all going to wear these masks, just in case something goes wrong. We're going to give you this apple, if it doesn't dissolve when you touch it, you're good to go." The airtight door slid open and Maeve held her breath as she stepped out of the glass that had held her captive for what felt like forever. She shut her eyes tight, and when she realized that the apple she was holding was completely fine, she was overcome with happiness.

"Yes! I did it!" exclaimed Bruce. Bucky sighed in relief and took off the mask. "Ah shit." cursed Maeve. The four men all rushed to her aid. "What is it, Conner?" Asked Sam. Maeve laughed,

"No, no! It's fine! I just thought about the fact that I'm basically supposed to wear this forever now."
