Chapter 2

September 9 6:30 AM

Today is my first day at Dover High School. I want to stay home and be on my phone all day. But my mom keeps barking at me about how important education is. I say what's important and what's not and school is on the 'can live without' list. Recently, I got my black hair died ombre over the summer. And I got a new outfit for school. I have black leggings with a leather jacket. My shirt is my favorite! It's from the show Pretty Little Liars and it says "Game on Bitches -A". I swear if anyone, and I mean anyone, tries to even touch the shirt they're going to be writing with their teeth!

As I was walking down the hall, I was staring at my schedule. Language Art's, yes! Math, no! Suddenly something hit me from the side and I slammed, hard, against the lockers.

"What the fuck!" I looked up and saw a handsome boy staring at me. His hair was brown and his eyes were big and beautiful. He wore a red T-shirt with jeans and sneakers.

"Oh shit, are you ok? I'm so sorry, I didn't see...oh god. Your bleeding!" He said but the only words I heard were your bleeding. I followed his eyes to my arm where blood was dripping from my hand. I removed the jacket and saw there was blood trailing down my arm. The strange thing is, I never felt any pain. I pretend I felt it though.

"Oh my god. I think I need the nurse." I said

"I'll take you up there." He said and grabbed my waist. He's body was warm and cozy. I wanted to stay there forever. My eyes looked to the left and I was shocked. An imprint of my body was left on the lockers!

He began walking to the nurse and my attention was on him. "So, what's your name?"

"Jacob Miles. Your new here aren't you? I've never seen you before. And trust me I'm pretty sure I would remember a girl as gorgeous as you." I was blushing! He's voice was so crisp and sweet.

"I am new. My name's Kassy, Kassy Mattes." I responded and he looked down to smile. Such a lovely smile!

"I like your shirt, Kassy." He said reading it.

"I like your smile." I responded and I could see him blush a little.

"Thanks. Hey, if your still in school, would you like to have lunch with me?" He asked outside the nurses office.

"Sure." I said beaming

We entered the nurses office together. She looked up from the paper she was working on and her eyes blasted out of the sockets! I could tell she was looking at all the blood that was dripping from my hand. Jacob sat me in a chair and the nurse came over. She looked up at Jacob.

"What happened now Jacob?" She asked

"I bumped into her in the hall and she hit the lockers." He responded

The nurse looked at me, " Are you ok sweetie?"

"I'm alright. Just stings." I lied

"Ok, Jacob could I see you real quick." She said and Jacob nodded.

Her and Jacob entered a small room and she closed the door. But I could still hear them. It's something I grew up with. Super hearing my dad used to say when I was little.

"Jacob, your power needs to be controled. I'll try to change the girl's memory into thinking she fell outside but I can't keep covering for you."

"I know and I'm sorry. I've been seeing Carlos and I've been able to control it. I was just upset that I have math 2nd period and didn't see her."

"Remember that your strength is affected by your emotion."

"Yes, Lindia."

"Good, now you better head to class."

The nurse exited with Jacob. He smiled at me and I smiled back. The nurse went for something behind the desk. Jacob walked over and kneeled in front of me.

"I'll see you at lunch right?" He asked

"Yeah, lunch." I said and he got up, placed his hand on my shoulder and said, "Feel better." Then exited.

The nurse walked over with a needle!

"What's that?" I panicked

"Relax, it's a pain killer." She responded

"What ever happened to pills?" I asked

"This one works better." She sat next to me

"Wait, before you do that I want the blood cleaned up." I said and she stared at me. Then she got up, placed the needle on the desk, then brought me a wet cloth.

"Here darling, I'll wipe it." She cleaned up my hand and then went to the cut. When she cleared away the blood she gasped.

"What is it?" I looked down and stared in wonder.

"It's completely healed, but how?" I said and looked up at the woman.

"I guess it was a small cut. You seem fine. Um, I'll just hand you a note and you can head to class." She said and walked to the desk. Then she put away the needle and started writing. I looked down at my arm.

How is it possible? I was bleeding like crazy and now there isn't even a mark. What the hell?

"Here darling. You can head to class now." I looked up at her holding a pink slip in my face. I took it and my backpack and headed out. I passed the hall where I left an imprint but it was gone. Gone! Just like my injury. Something strange is going on. And I bet its the old lady in the office. I said referring to the nurse. But time flew by and I found myself forgetting the whole incindent. Jacob was so interesting to talk to.

He was like me. Hated math, loved writing and drawing, and was voted most likely to get arrest for drunk driving! Being around him was great. But something about him seemed different than other people. He was special. But I don't know what made him so special.
