The little girl asked bearing puppy dog eyes. The woman nodded tucking the little girl into her bed.

"One about a princess??"

She asked. The girl shook her head.

"How about zombies??"

The little girl wrinkled her nose in disgust.

"No mummy, not princesses and definitely not zombies. Tell me about werewolves again."

The little girl lay down, cuddling into her blankets.

The little girl closed her eyes and let herself drift off into a sleep only disturbed by dreams of fairies, werewolves and wonderful lands. The woman reached into her pocket and fished out a silver pendant, placing it around the sleeping girls neck. She kissed her head, whispering,

"I love you Aimee, I always have and always will."

That was the day I lost my mother.
