Nini POV

I was woken up by my bed sinking down and water being splashed into my face I shot up out of bed gasping for air there stood Melo recording laughing his ass off "I'm gonna kill you" I growl chasing after him out of my room "MAMA!" I yell soaked finding Melo sitting on the kitchen counter talking to my mother like he wasn't the one who just got me all wet

"Girl you got 20 min til you got to leave why you all wet?" She asks I glare at Melo who is trying to contain his laughter I flip him off "your a fucking bitch I swear to god" I rant "aye watch yo mouth" my mother warns "yea watch it" melo instigates "ma he did this" I say pointing at him "momma d now why on earth would I ever do such a thing to her?" He asks tryna be all innocent and shit she smacks him upside the head "lil boy we all know yo childish ass be the only one doing this kinda stuff" she laughs Melo glares at her for not taking his side

"See I would say apologize but y'all can figure that out yourselves I gotta go to work" she says walking past grabbing her bag leaving I was just standing there glaring at Melo who was not worried about my anger not one bit

"Aye be ready in 10 or I'm leaving yo ass" he laughs walking past bumping my shoulder I stomp upstairs into my room and attempt to dry my hair in the little time I had I groan throwing my blow dryer in frustration and end up just throwing it into a bun and putting on a lil cute outfit to make myself look somewhat presentable

I grab my bag locking the house leaving DJ and Lele still sleeping I get in the car slamming the door Melo sucks his teeth at me "get out and do that again don't be slamming my door like that" he demands I roll my eyes "fuck you just drive" I say he takes the key out of the ignition sitting back in his seat looking at me crossing his arms "fucking bitch" I mumble opening up the door "what was that?" He asked I roll my eyes closing it softly "now was that so hard?" He asks wit a smirk on his face i just wanted to smack the hell out of him right now but he is my ride to school

We pull into the parking lot "my daily goal has been succeeded and it's only 8 am" he smiles walking next to me "you just love to test my patience don't you" I laugh "it's what I do best" he says running off to meet up with Daij and them I find airi at her locker "hey girly" I smile "hi" she says plainly I look at her confused "you okay?" I asked "yep but your not gonna be" she says "um why not?" I question confused "Ashley is co-captain for the squad instead of me" she says my heart dropped "you not serious" I say is shock "yea my uncle doesn't think I do enough for the squad"she says obviously pissed off

"I'll talk to him I don't know what the hell he thinking knowing damn well I don't fuck wit Ashley" I say I hear someone clear their throat behind me I turning it's Ashley leaning on the locker I roll my eyes "still don't like me I presume?" She says I kept quiet I'm not bout to entertain her "that's fine don't say nothing just know you will have to sooner or later because imma be around a lot more than you think" she smirks popping her gum walking away

"Did she forget when I nearly broke her nose last year?" I ask causing airi to laugh along with me "girl you know you knocked a few brains cells out her head" she jokes closing her locker "swear I did anyways I'll talk to coach west after practice I'm sure I can change his mind" I smirk I'm his favorite he can't say no to me "girl good luck he's in a bad mood today" she says the bell rang making us part ways going to class I walk in sitting down next to daijon "hey ugly" I nudge him he smiles "wassup Melo Jr." he laughs I roll my eyes "you is not gone start wit that weak ass nickname again me and that nigga do not act the same" I laugh starting on my class work "y'all really do though" he says laughing while copying my paper

skip to lunch

I was leaning on the wall waiting for this fool Melo because he stole the key to my lock 4th period and still hasn't brought it back and I'm hungry as shit I was becoming hella impatient because he's taking forever I texted him 10 minutes ago

I finally see his goofy ass walking up to me wit this big ole smirk on his face dangling the keys in the air I lay my hand out to give me the key but he doesn't and pins me against the locker he's a touchy person so this was nothing new "you gotta do sum for it" he smirks I internally throw up "ew Melo back off" I shove him back snatching the key "now let's hurry up the line is probably so long by now" I said annoyed as fuck grabbing his hand dragging him behind me to the cafeteria

I walk in catching jalen's gaze and it immediately going to Melo and I hands he looked pissed now I would really like to go at least one day without this nigga being mad at me like damn let me get a break always thinking I'm cheating or something

School was over and I was dreading going to practice I arrive setting my bag down at the bottom of the bleachers some of the girls were already stretching Ashley of course wasn't I seen Melo sitting at the top of the bleachers he always stayed after so he could take me home and we could grab a bite to eat after

He smiles waving down at me I quickly wave back I seen in the corner of my eye ashley came in and was waving at him too wit this big ass smile on her face I look at this bitch confused because who the fuck she think she waving at I look back up at Melo who's face is beet red now seeing that I noticed her little gesture I glare at him knowing damn well what's going on I thought the lil rumors wasn't true but I guess not looks like imma have to have a little talk wit his dumbass after practice

I push whatever I just saw to the back of my mind focusing on starting practice "Alright ladies I know most of you thought we would be doing co-captain tryouts today but Coach West already made his decision!" I stated annoyed hearing them all mumbling and groaning "now let's start running drills" I clap letting them start on the laps around the gym Ashley sat down on the bleachers behind me "um what are you doing?" I ask she gives me a stank look and goes back on her phone "Go run drills your co-captain you set the example I'm not gone tell you again this ain't no free pass to be lazy get yo ass up" I say rudely she sucks her teeth getting up starting to run

I blow my whistle indicating to stop in place do 5 burpees they all have to be in sync if not then we start over again I didn't usually run drills sometimes I did but most of the time I ran practice because Coach West was somewhere

skip an hour

I dismiss the girls from practice grabbing my bag seeing Melo had already left outside Coach west wasn't in his office so I just decided to head home

I open the door to see Ashley sitting in the passenger seat of Melo's car "I don't have time for this get yo ass up" I demand she scoffs "practice is over I don't gotta listen to yo ass Imani get out my face" she says I look around tryna find who she talking to I will gladly stomp her ass into the ground again as I did last time we fought "really lamelo?" I say I looked at him as he just sat there looking all dumb "ash you gotta get in the back or I can't take you" he mumbles I smirk seeing her looking at him surprised he just said that sis needs to know her place

The tension in the car was so high Melo knew better than to be fucking wit her knowing my situation with her

We quickly drop her off pulling out of her street I take off my seat belt and fully turn facing him as he drives my back to the door I was fuming "please tell me you was just being nice because I swear to god lamelo lafrance b-" he cuts me off "please put on your seat belt" he says gripping the wheel I could tell he was preparing himself for me to go off

"You know what I'm not even about to argue with you imma just let zo, gelo, and dj deal wit yo ass think you so big and bad and have the audacity to mess with her" I say turning back in my seat turning up the music ignoring him as he attempted to justify why he was with her
