[Third POV]

The moment (Y/N) got home, she faked a smile and greeted her father.

He saw through her smile that something was wrong. However, he figured that maybe she needed time alone. So he didn't bother asking where she went and why she came this late.

She plopped herself down on her bed as she thought about the deal she just finished making with Talia.

She didn't like the idea of cutting Damian off out of nowhere.

But she knew it was the best choice.

The best for everyone to be safe.

For Damian to be safe.

°• Flashback •°

"I can talk with Talia and make her change her mind" suggested Bruce.

"You know she won't" (Y/N) replied.

Deep down, she wanted to try his idea. But being honest, she knew it wasn't going to work.

"I can try, (Y/N)" Bruce insisted as he flew the Batwing.

"You know I can't allow this to happen" he added.

"I'm sorry, Bruce, but it's the safest choice"

"If I had countered her, she would've sent me back to Ra's. He would force me to become his weapon. I'll only hurt those around me" she stated as her tone saddened.

"You are not alone"

Those four words stuck to her head like gum. She knew he was right. And maybe if she had known this sooner, she would've found a way to defeat Talia.

But, it was too late now.

"I don't know what to do anymore" she whispered.

"We'll find a way. We'll find it" assured Bruce.

°• End of Flashback •°

"Bruce will find a way" (Y/N) whispered to herself as she hugged herself to sleep.

"He'll find a way..."

However, she can't depend on others to solve her own problems.

"(Y/N)? Are you okay?" asked Damian as he poked her arm to wake her up.

She had her head down as she got to school early.

"Yea" she replied as she rose her head.

"Looks like Luke didn't take your seat today" (Y/N) joked.

"Don't even speak of him" he rolled his eyes.

After a brief silence, she spoke up,

"Damian... we can't be friends anymore"

"Why?" asked Damian in a shock.
