A/N: Here is a glossary page, just in case you had forgotten a word and couldn't remember what chapter you saw it on~! If I missed any terms that you might have espied, let me know and leave a comment. I'll try and update this as much as possible so that you'll have it for your reference.
Familial Terms
The family terms below can be used for non blood relationships and doesn't necessarily have to be related to the speaker.
Dage 大哥: Means eldest or big brother. It can also be used for a gang leader or boss.
Gege 哥哥: Means older brother. You mostly see this in CN dramas where a younger female will call an older male, 'gege'. It can also be used affectionately.
Jiejie 姐姐: Means older sister.
Didi 弟弟: Means younger brother.
Er ge 二哥: Means second brother.
Waisunzi 外孙子: Means grandson (from a daughter).
Laoye 姥爷: Means grandfather (maternal) and is the informal way to call your grandfather. Another way to call grandfather is '外公' waigong (informal), it is used more in the south.
Lao Lao 姥姥: Means grandmother (maternal) and is the informal way to call your grandmother. Another way to call grandmother is '外婆' waipo (informal), it is used more commonly in the south.
Yuefu 岳父: Means wife's father.
Jimu 继母: Means stepmother.
Sunzimen 孙子们: Means grandchildren (plural). '孙子' means grandchild, & '们' is used at the end of a noun to make it from singular to plural. Chapter 19.
Dagemen 大哥们: Means big/ eldest brothers. Refer to the usage of '们' from above.
Waisunnu 外孙女: Means daughter's daughter; granddaughter. Chapter 20.
Erzi 儿子: Means son.
Shushu 叔叔: Means uncle. Can be used to address someone who is older than you but is not older than your father's age. If referred to with familial ties, Shushu means father's younger brother.
Calling One Intimately
This is not limited to just the siblings, parents, and grandparents or any relative. Close friends/ acquaintances will use an intimate name for a person as well as someone who is a relationship with someone.
Ah [Name] 阿 [Name]
Xiao [Name] 小 [Name]
[Name] [Name] → Usually is cute name for a person and is a repetition of a syllable in their given name. e.g. → Jiao Jiao (jiaojiao) 娇娇 or Yu Yu (yuyu) 瑜瑜 {What they call Xiu Shunyu in the novel.}
[Name]'er 儿[Name]: '儿' means child. You may also see the traditional character of '儿' → '兒' in CN novels (maybe). e.g. → What they call Xiu Shinyi → 忆儿.
Terms of Address
Titles or suffixes used for calling people.
Daren 大人: A title/ suffix used for someone who has authority.
Xiao Jie 小姐: means young miss or young lady. Xiu Shinyi had used it as 'little big sister' in chapter 16.
Xiao Ge 小哥: usually refers to a man that is younger or is a junior to you. There's also a phrase in which it is used with: 二屄小哥 er bi xiao ge means dumb c*nt little brother.
Miscellaneous Terms
Just a collection that didn't really belong in any of the category above.
Kigurumi: Japanese onesies. Usually you'll see the animal kigurumi such as the rabbit or cat ones.
250 二百五 erbaiwu: Chinese internet slang for 'fool'/ 'idiot'.
F— your mother! 他妈的: The infamous saying in CN novels. It essentially means, 'f*ck' or 'dammit'. You might also see it as just the pinyin abbreviation → TMD (tmd).
Wo Kao 我靠: Used to express surprise. [ 'Holy sh*t!'/ 'Well f*ck me!'/ 'F*ck!'/ 'F*cking awesome!']
