I watched the weird group leaving. Kayla had nearly knocked me over in the hallway, I hated when she never paid attention. I saw at the table in the meeting room with my coffee, having been greeted by Hunter

"Jesse, hello"

He rarely spoke to anyone but me or Blake, we had all been friends before this thing was probably why. Not that I minded, I knew what he had gone through like everyone else.

"Hello hunter."

We got quiet as people came in, first it was Emanuel, then Derek. They looked at me and Hunter, still not really talking. When the meeting was over I saw the other three leave, so I decided to stay behind. What was the point in caring anyway? Zuri had been right. Everyone here will die, if anyone survives it'd be Hunter and Blake. I walked to my office and fixed my black hair to the right away from my eyes, remembering how that night went down.

Cold air brushing past me as fog filled the view...everywhere you looked. I heard screeching and a little girl screaming for her mother so I went to see if I could help her, she was on her knees, crying as who I assumed was her mother was on the ground and a boy who looked a little older was trying to pull her away, from what I could see they were normal so I helped pull her away. A man called for us to follow him and we did. Ever since then I'd met all the other six people, Zuri when she was a kid went from always crying to now being a very strong person. Almost as good as me and Hunter.

--

Sitting on my bed I saw the wagon come back, Zuri getting out first, she looked natural. I fixed my red hair and walked out to them. Noting that everyone seemed okay, Kayla had a slight scratch on her cheek and looked worn out, but Blake and Zuri were talking so I went to Kayla.

"Emanuel...hi"

"Hi..how'd it go? What happened?"

"Banshee and Vampire tag teamed us"

"Ouch...anyone found?"

"One, but he had breathed in too much fog so Zuri.."

Her voice trailed a little but she smiled anyway, that outgoing attitude helped ease things around here. I laughed and I knew I caught everyone's attention

"You're so heartless Zuri.."

She glared at me and as she threw her knife at me I caught it before it hit my eye, slightly shocked I stepped back, seeing Blakes smirk at her, I couldn't help but want to hit him. If she trusted anyone it'd be him, he was strong, and handsome. He clearly knew what he was doing. Hadn't realized my glare till Zuri hit me in the side of the head as she walked inside. I was so whipped for her, anyone would be, she was perfect, strong, barely showed her emotions, flexible, fast, good at almost everything, and she was so pretty. I looked at Kayla who was giggling when Blake nodded and went inside. I soon followed.

--

I was merely sitting in my room when I had a bad feeling. I got up and looked out the window to see Emanuel with Kayla, Zuri with Blake. They looked calm, everyone but Blake, he looked ticked off as Zuri was talking about something, I noticed the way that of course the two who were most outgoing of course laughed at something as they went inside. I walked to the training room, I wasn't used to being around them this much, I used to stay in my room but I needed to know if there were more people alive...and if so how many. I went and met Blake in the training room, I was okay talking to him and Zuri, she was a different kind of person. She wasn't afraid to speak her mind and tell you what she though, that's what brought my attention to her, she might be the second best person here other than myself.

"Hunter"

I turned around to see Blake, looking confused but he was smiling, small cuts visible on his body

"Blake...How many?"

"one...Zuri killed it though"

I nodded and left, back to my study to sleep the night away.
