Zone part 8

-Jesse-

Blake had brought Kayla to me, she looked pale. When he explained to me what happened I told her to sit, I was going to check her vitals. She sat and looked at me, I could tell something was wrong with her but it didn't look like she was infected, I took a few blood samples and checked her pupils for dilation, she seemed fine but looked really really sad. I waited for the results on her blood and it took longer then thought so I decided to talk to her.

"Look, whatever is making you upset, don't let it get to you okay? I don't want to have to bury you, I will go out of my way if needed to make sure you're alright but you have to tell me what's wrong first"

The look that crossed her face confused me a little as she cried again...I didn't know what to do so I did what I'd seen Derek do for Zuri as kids and I hugged her, she cried on my shoulder. It was strange that I didn't mind, she seemed to be relaxing a bit.

"So what was it Kayla?"

"I..I liked Derek and he...rejected me...it hurts"

I felt anger rise deep in me until I heard a ding, meaning the blood samples were back, I checked them and they were negative, she had little fog in her system still so she needed to be careful to stay out of any more and probably work it off.

"Look Kayla, I know I'm not good with people but I can tell you that it will probably hurt for a while...can I try to ease it?"

"How?"

I sighed, not knowing if this was the right way to go but I slowly pulled her closer and placed my lips on hers, feeling a slight fever rise to her cheeks as she looked at me in shock when I moved, she looked at the door and ran out it. I touched my lips, feeling hers was different then the books said kissed were, but I liked it for some reason.

-Hunter POV-

I knew Zuri was training, I remembered how we woke up.

The warmth is all around me, I opened my eyes to see Zuri still asleep. She looked calm so I had to slip away before she woke up, but when I moved she woke up and slammed me to the bed, a knife to my throat, when she realized she was straddling my hips she got off and looked at me, a little shocked, I was stunned still but I got up

"You...your neck okay?"

"Yes...I'm fine, sorry"

"Don't be..I slept for once...Just we need to get ready now..doors behind you."

I left speechless.

I wondered why she didn't seem to care, but I knew I was thinking too much into it, she was an amazing person from what I knew and she was skilled. During the mission she shot someone in the head, it was recently changed because the white hair was tinted. But she only shot because Kayla went to her knees. I ran and grabbed her, and on habit slammed her down, I got quiet again when I saw the look Zuri gave me. When we got home Blake and the others went in but Zuri pulled me to the side and slapped me, Why?

"What the hell?!"

"You could have hurt her in there Hunter...Look I was told to try to be nice, but you have to as well"

"That doesn't apply to me Zuri!"

"Hunter, please try."

The look in her eyes was sincere, I felt myself freeze some so I walked inside, leaving her by herself. I walked into my room and laid down, wanting to sleep it all off.

-Derek-

I sat near the pool like always as I heard someone come in, I looked behind me and saw Zuri, shorts and a bikini top, she looked at me and smiled. I was blushing, she hasn't smiled since we were kids.

"Join me for a swim Derek? I could work off some stress by swimming"

"Sure."

I followed her in, watching her dive under the water, her brown hair looking angelic as she came up out of the water. I smiled and stayed standing, as I got lost in thought water hit me, Zuri had splashed me, I laughed and splashed her back but she had dove under the water and pulled me in. we swam for a while before she got cold and went inside, sooner or later I did. It's been so long since we've had fun like that. I missed this old her, but I knew she was different now.
