The Price For Happiness

"Happiness is a choice"
They said
"But why can't I rejoice?"
I asked
.
"Just create your own happiness!"
So I followed
"Finally, I am now tearless"
But it's shallow
.
"Happiness cannot be forced"
Someone whispered
"Then why do tears come in force?"
Hope was dispersed
.
Happiness
What a concept!
I've seen it in so many faces
So I've searched it in so many places
.
Where can I find it?
I wondered
A man crossed my way
We stumbled
.
"Where are you headed?"
He questioned
"On the way to happiness"
I answered
.
A smile formed on his face
"I once tried to search for happiness"
He began to preface
"But I realized that it was always there"
.
"Happiness cannot exist without sadness"
I listened
"Since light cannot exist without darkness"
I acceded
.
"Rainbows only come after it rains"
I pondered
"Laughter often comes after we cry"
I marvelled
.
"You can never know joy
Unless you go through sorrow
You cannot embrace felicity
Unless you conquer misery"
.
"You cannot break free
Unless you are constrained
You cannot stand up
Unless you fall over"
.
"Appreciate the sadness
And you will lose it again
Sacrifice your happiness
And you will find it again"
