Lonely Strangers

Two lonely strangers
     walking side by side
     under the sleepy moonlight
     surrounded by millions of stars
     watching them clearly
     leaving behind a world
     they once had known

Two familiar strangers
     a deafening silence
     between two lovers

The one who got away
     brings a sad smile
     a broken heart
     fully empty
     dying alive
     and living dead

The one who was left behind
     makes a serious laugh
     about forgotten memories
     they once had
     pleading to escape
     the small crowd
     to walk with him
     and revisit the past

Along the road
     they tread endlessly
     side by side
     joined separately
     carrying the emotional baggage
     as they endure turmoil
of clinging to what was gone

"What happened to the two of us?"
     there was no answer
     only silence

maybe
just maybe,
we can go back
and fix the past
so we never met
and i never knew you

but why?
you're here
and yet we're strangers

it's nice to know
that you've moved on
so i'll have to go
and just move on

some questions
are better left unanswered
some people
are better being strangers

Two romantic lovers
     separate ways
     bidding farewell
     as two lonely strangers
     who once believed
     they'll reach the end
     together as one
     now they reached the end
     of their journey

goodbye, it's nice knowing you

The journey goes on
     they were lost
     but they found themselves
     watching the sunrise
     to face a new day
and end the long tiring night
     of walking as lonely strangers
