Two Annas in a Modern World

The two of them share the same world
Both of them lived in the same society
But one will rise above the other
One would fall below the other
.
Anna lived in a suburban town
A privilege she truly treasured
The society she was in was far ahead
But she was wise enough to be not misled
.
The other Anna lived in the same town
A privilege that she took for granted
The society was always ahead
So she followed quickly and was led
.
Freedom for both Annas are different
One sees it as a gift of good will
The other, as a gift of free will
Both of them can see, but one was blind
.
The society created a rectangular device
Anna utilized the new invention
The other embraced the revolution
Both of them used it, but one was used
.
The rectangular device was magnificent!
Anna lived her life beside it
The other lived her life inside it
Both of them are free, but one was captive
.
The device glowed with its radiant light
Anna used it for communication
The other, for further isolation
Both of them can talk, but one was mute
.
The device provided a social platform
Anna assumed that it would enslave her
The other had let it consume her
Both of them socialized, but one was lonely
.
The device made noise in the society
Anna found it to be appalling
The other deemed it as appealing
Both of them can hear, but one was deaf
.
The society developed two ideologies
They were like scissors
They are united in one purpose
To divide asunder
.
They share the same world
Yet they live separately
One has to rise above another
One has to fall below another
.
Both of them were dragged by the device
One of them was dragged to progress
The other was dragged to regress
All because of a single rectangular device
