Where Do They Go After Election?

In the pond across the housetops
Alligators prepare to go
Ravening wolves dressed as a sheep
Ready to knock on all the doors
.
The clean hearts struggled to catch the spotlight
As the dirty lips deliver their lies
Buying integrity with a cheap price
To win the suffrage of the marginalized
.
What do they do during election?
They come to every place
They show an angelic face
To win a spot in the race
.
Desolate places were ignored for years
Medicine and education did not thrive
Privilege and honor were deprived
But on election, posters did arrive
.
They sang songs to serenade
They promise to alleviate
The poverty and conflict that arises
But we heard it for a billion times
.
We see them in every place
We hear them from every news
But where do they go after election?
Who will stand still for progression?
.
More than a hundred mouths made promises
More than a hundred hands touched our palms
More than a hundred faces showed up to our lands
More than a hundred people reached out to our dirty hands
.
But only twelve can make the promises come true
Only twelve can make the law subdued
Only twelve can have power
And only twelve can be rich once more
.
So where do they go after election?
The answer happens every three years
Most of them will disappear
Never to be heard of and seen again
.
But they'll come again after three years
Until then, we will wait for a while
To placard our vote for a cheap price
For a temporary value lasting for a week
