Crestfallen Cognizance
by Zamzam Ahmed
————————————————I've never imagined what people would say
Standing on that platform of my anamnesis
How could they ever simply put my life
Struggles, triumphs,
The moments I almost perished
Knife to skin
Tears in my throat
Of sanctity and melancholy
How possibly
Could they ever,
Stand at my coffin
Claiming my life and tears like they bared them tooHey guys. So with this particular poem I think I want to add an explanation.

I wrote this to deter from myself. In my religion you don't talk over the people at their funeral or have coffins of any sorts. So I'm kind of reinventing myself in this poem. Taking on a different persona and rejecting my religion or going past it, in a way. At the very end, the very last second. So I could detach myself from my own death. I said how dare they claim to know me, but I don't claim me either.
