Mother
by Zamzam Ahmed
—————————————————The skies cry for you
The oceans rise in spite of you
Mother, I wake up every morning for you
My reason for being
You planted me, as a flower bud
Watched me lose my leaves
And saw me grow again
Never once did you forget to water
The daughter you grew for nine months
I'm here because of you, mother
I want you to know
Even in my darkest moments
I will always
Always grow for you
So that you may present your little flower
For the world to admire
