Dear Earl and Countess,

I'm afraid I can only bare terrible news in this letter. As you may know, Christopher went to Newmarket  for the races.

He hasn't participated in one for such a long while, he was beyond elated to do one again. But I inform you with deep regret that he fell off of his horse.

His horse must have been startled, and he was flung backward. It broke my heart to pieces to hear my only son say ask me who I was when he woke up.

He didn't even know who he was.

The doctor diagnosed him with a case of acute amnesia. Which means that not all of his memory was totally lost. I am very grateful that after a while he remembered his name, and even the Duke and I.

He is currently at home resting. I urge you to please visit soon, as to I am curious if he has memory of you all.

We must keep exercising his mind, gradually. It would be an immense help for him to see your faces.

And let there be no confusion among you - I am speaking of Della as well. I shall see you all soon.

Sincerely,
The Duchess of Brent
