"Sam's lost the element of surprise, and he doesn't want to take you on outnumbered, so he's not gonna come at you head on." Jake says as I stand close to Carlisle, Seth sat on the floor playing with Nicola. "He's got the place surrounded and he'll wait for his opportunity."

"We won't get through without a fight." Emmett growled, he's thoughts instantly on fighting and nothing else.

"No fights. We won't be the ones to break the treaty." Carlisle states, wrapping an arm around my waist.

"The treaty is void, at least in Sam's mind." Jacob says, shaking his head.

"Not in ours." I sighed, as Esme nodded her head in agreement.

"Carlisle, no one's hunted for weeks." Edward muttered, I saw the darkness in everyone's eyes, all of them hungered, I was okay since I could eat human food but the itch in my throat wasn't helpful.

"We'll make do." I state. "And if I have to, I'll try to learn a spell to conjure animals," I say with a soft smile.

"You've done us a great service, Jacob. Thank you." Esme said, her smile soft.

I stood in the shadows, watching the night life, as Jacob stood under me, he knew I was there but left me to do whatever. "I know they're out there somewhere, but I can't hear them anymore. It's so quiet." Jacob spoke up as Leah came to be beside him.

"I stopped hearing them, too, the second I decided to leave. It's nice." Leah stated, a sort of calm in her voice.

"You know you can't stay here." Jacob muttered.

"But I don't have any place..." Leah whispered.

"I can't trust you with the Cullen's. You hate them too much. You don't even like me." Jacob scoffed.

"I don't have to. I just have to follow you." Leah stated, with a shrug.

"Look, Seth doesn't want you here. Neither do I." Jacob growled. I wanted to say something but stopped as Leah held a stone-cold look in her eyes.

"Being unwanted isn't exactly a new thing for me." Leah strained to say. I frowned at hearing the sadness in her voice. "Look, I'll stay out of your way. I'll do whatever you want, except go back to Sam's pack and be the pathetic ex-girlfriend he can't get away from. You don't know how many times I wished I could imprint on someone. Anyone."

"To break the connection." I say startling Leah, she looks to me and nods her head in agreement.

"All right. I'm gonna do a perimeter run." Jake says leaving me with Leah. Leah nods and I smile letting him leave. I jump from the tree and land perfectly.

"Thank you," I whisper to the girl, standing as she frowns, but nods her head. "If you need anything just ask, I promise we won't do you any harm," I say and walk away leaving her to ponder.

Silence filled the room as I watched Carlisle look at the X-rays of Bella's little one. "Your rib is cracked. But there are no splinters. You haven't punctured anything." Carlisle spoke breaking the silence. I sighed in relief hearing she was okay.

"Yet," muttered Edward. I scowled at the boy.

"Edward." I scolded.

"It's breaking her bones now. It's crushing you from the inside out. Carlisle tell her what you told me. Tell her." Edward demanded. Carlisle gave me a look and I nodded.

"Carlisle tell me. It's all right." Bebe said with a soft smile, as I leaned against the wall watching them.

"The foetus isn't compatible with your body. It's too strong. It won't allow you to get the nutrition you need. It's starving you by the hour. I can't stop it, and I can't slow it down. At this rate, your heart will give out before you can deliver." Carlisle said, his eyes filled with despair, I knew what he was thinking, I knew he thought that if she died, I would be beside myself. But in my heart, I knew not to be sad, of course I would mourn her, but I wouldn't let her down and abandon her baby.

"Then I'll hold on as long as I can, and then..." Bebe started but was cut off by Carlisle his eyes holding a slight worry and fear.

"Bella. There are some conditions that even venom can't overcome. You understand? I'm sorry." Carlisle whispered, before existing the room, he stopped next to me and kissed my forehead.

"Go see Nicola, she'll make you feel better," I whispered, he smiled and nodded heading towards where Seth stayed looking after my little Nicola.

"Edward, I'm sorry." Bebe whispered.

"I can't live without you." He said.

"You won't. You're gonna have a part of me. He'll need you." Bebe whispered smiling.

"Do you honestly think that I could love it or even tolerate it if it killed you?" Edward questioned as anger filled his face.

"It's not his fault. You have to accept what is." Bebe argued.

"Because you've given me no choice! Bella, we're supposed to be partners, remember? But you decided this on your own. You've decided to leave me." Edward growled.

"Don't see it that way." Bebe whimpered.

"Well, I have no other way to see it. 'Cause it's me who'll lose you. And I don't choose that. I don't choose that." He muttered before turning and leaving. I shook my head annoyed.

"I can't give him up," Bebe whispers as I go over to her.

"Well, they haven't exactly thought of the smartest things yet have they." I said as I help Bebe out of the room and back to the lounge. As we made our way inside the lounge, Rose immediately came to help Bebe and get her comfortable. "I'll be back," I whispered before leaving the room and going to mine and Carlisle's room.

I walked over to my cupboard and opened it. I looked behind me and turned back before opening a compartment, that not even Carlisle knew of. I reached inside and pulled the book I needed out. The letter still sitting on top. I picked it up and begun to read it.

'To our dearest Hunter.

We the rulers of life and death, the demons and angels of the world gift you, Karlene Mikaelson, this book, the book of those who are destined to die soon. We wish that you may use this book in helping prevent the possibility of many good peoples deaths.

Sincerely The Watchers of Death and Life.'

"Show me Isabella Cullen!" I ordered the book and it flipped open quickly to Bebe's page. "So she's going to like us," I whispered. Sighing I placed the book away and shut the compartment. "Now all I have to do is make sure no one else loses hope." I muttered before leaving and going over to my husband and my little girl.
