My headcanon for Jeff is that he actually regrets trying to kill Liu, and when he finally gets reunited with him he gets all sappy because he missed his older brother. Liu is at first hesitant, because he did try to kill him, but eventually forgave him. They still argue like siblings often do, but they are very close.
