When Gale and Vine started dating, Jason became that overprotective parent, constantly scrutinizing them. Of course, he just wanted to make sure Vine was happy and that it was healthy, but it bugged Gale due to his past. Gale was often scrutinized and critiqued by his own family, especially after coming out as trans. So Vine had to tell Jason to get off Gale's back. Jason has of course apologized to Gale. Though Jason is still a little protective of Vine.
