Part 5: aftermath

  Madelaines POV:
I watched Vanessa walking away with Charles hand in hand it truly hurt so bad. But this is why I had to end our friendship. Vanessa's in love and me having feelings would get in the way of her happiness and I didn't want that. No matter how much it hurt I want Vanessa to be happy even if it means for me to suffer. I than felt a hand on my shoulder " you miss her don't you?" I hear Cami say behind me. I turn around to look Cami in the eyes she realized I was about to start sobbing so she leaned in for a hug. "I miss her so much Cami" I said while beginning to sob. Many people were staring but I didn't care I couldn't stop crying I tried to stop but I couldn't. Cami and I were still hugging while she rubbed my back. After a couple minutes cami asked if I wanted to sit and nodded my head whipping the few tears away. We than sat down on a bench while cami had her arm around me while I cried lightly. After about 10 minutes I began to calm down, I went into the bathroom to clean myself up and cami and I decided to get some yogurt. After the yogurt we decided to go shopping. I was still really sad but I kept putting a fake smile on.
Vanessa's POV:
While Charles and I were talking while walking through the mall I saw out of the corners of my eye Mads. I than looked at her and she seemed upset. She even had a fake smile on while cami was blabbing. Cami was always the sweetest person and since Mads left cami took her place as my best friend. Which now I feel really bad for I hope Mads isn't mad at Cami for taking her place but again she did it to herself. I guess I was to in my thoughts because I than hear Charles scream my name waving his hand in my face. "Vanessa, Baby?!" I than looked at him " sorry I was thinking hey umm I'll meet you at the car okay I need to talk to Mads"I said looking over to Mads. " he than looked at what I was starring at "oh okay babe I'll be at the car love you" He than have me a kiss and took the American eagles bag out of my hand. " love you too" I said as he was done giving me a kiss. Once Charles left I looked for Mads but I couldn't find her. I than decided to call cami "hey Cami"
"Oh hey V"
"Where are you at?" I said while looking around me
"Oh umm I'm in H&M why?" Cami said
"Nothing okay thanks bye" I said than hung the phone up and putting my phone in my back pocket
   I went straight into the vans store but I saw Mads outside of the store on a bench slumped down. She seemed to be thinking so I walked over sitting right beside her. She looked really happy I was their but I could tell she was sad also.
Madelaines POV:
  Cami decided she wanted a new pair of vans but I didn't feel up to do anything so I decided to just sit on the bench outside the store. I was sitting there just thinking about Vanessa like I usually do. I can't believe she's getting married while I'm sitting here having nothing good in my life. I wish I didn't have feelings for Vanessa and I thought they would have gone away by now but god I just can't get rid of them.all of a sudden I than felt someone sit next to me I thought it was Cami but than I saw her face it was Nessa.
When I saw her I couldn't help but smile, but also feel a little sad. "Hey Mads?" She said with a smile. I've missed that smile even if I saw it a couple hours ago. How did I go all these years without that smile and she just called me Mads I've waited for that voice to say my name again it felt so good so right. "Hey Vanessa, you called me Mads" I said with a smile looking at her. "Oh am I not allowed to call my friend the nickname I gave her" she giggle and so did I but god she pretty much friend zoned me there. But no of coarse she did shes getting married. "Is everything all right?" Vanessa said I can tell by her eyes and voice she was concerned about me. "Yeah why wouldn't I be?" I put a fake smile on trying to show Vanessa I was fine. Vanessa than frowned "ahh Mads do you think I'm that stupid?" She said rolling her eyes and looking away from me than back at me again. "What do you mean?" I say very very confused. "I can tell when your lying and when your faking a smile" she said looking me in the eyes. "Right" I said looking down at my hands fiddling with my Cartier ring. Vanessa and I both got the Cartier rings together as best friend rings and we promised each other to never take it off no matter what. I never broke that promise. I than heard Vanessa giggle I've waited so long to hear that giggle again. "What's so funny" I ask looking up at her, "your just so adorable" she said giggling. The second those words came out of her mouth my heart stopped and I could feel butterflies in my stomach. I've missed this girl so much you have no idea. I than realized I was blushing and looked away from her. Vanessa than took her hand grabbing my chin gently pulling my head to face her. "Are you gonna tell me what's wrong now?" She said looking at me concerned. "I don't really want to talk about it if that's okay?" I said looking at her lips. I tried not to but it was pretty hard not to. She removed her hand from my chin and sighed "Mads I will never force you to tell me anything just tell me when your ready and just know I'll always be here okay?" I than nodded slowly. And I got an idea. "Vanessa can we hang out tonight?" I asked feeling nervous because I really didn't know what the answer would be. "Of coarse but I have to go now because Charles is getting a tattoo than I'll text you when he's done so we can have a sleepover." I was glad she agreed we than said our goodbyes sadly. We stood up from the bench giving each other a pretty long hug and it felt so nice. I never wanted to let go of her but than she pulled out of the hug "I love you Mads" ahhhh my heart "I love you more Nessa" she than laughed "not possible" "uhh possible." "We will finish this argument later because I have to go but bye cutie" cutie wait! Did Vanessa just call me cutie I couldn't help but blush but thankfully she was slowly walking away so she didn't see. "Bye" god I can't believe that just happened!
Vanessa's POV:

I'm so happy to get to hang out with Mads tonight and maybe she'll tell me what was bothering her so much earlier, but I know I made her happy when I talked to her because She stopped fake smiling. I than got back to the car where I saw Charles on his phone. He looks over to me and smiles "you look happy?" He said with a smirk "you missed her a lot huh?" He said with a smile I could tell he was happy that I got to see Mads he knows how important she is to me. " I am I really am, and we're even hanging out tonight which I can't wait for" i said Charles than put his hand on my thigh "I'm happy your happy princess now let's get going" he left his hand on my thigh which than I put my hand on his and drove all the way to the tattoo parlor in the same position. I was nervous for him to get a tattoo he's never got one before and I don't like seeing him hurt. We than got out of the car linking hands and walked into the parlor. That's where I saw Mads and cami In the waiting room. "Cami? Mads?" I than let go of Charles hand and went over to hug them both together. "What's are you doing here?" I asked them. "Cami's getting a tattoo" Mads said looking at me smiling. "Wow your my best friend and you didn't tell me you were getting a tattoo?" I said crossing my arms trying to look like I was upset. "It was gonna be a surprise but since your here, guess what I'm getting?" Cami said very excitedly. "There's no way your doing it?!" I said jumping up and down. "I am V just for you!" She said hugging me " you don't have to do it you hate tattoos" I said feeling bad I put her into this position. "No your my bestie and I'll do anything for you!" Cami said kissing my cheek. "Wait what's going on" Mads said I completely forgot she was there if I'm being honest and I felt bad for calling Cami my bestie right in front of her. I could tell Mads was irritated but I let is slide this time. "Oh right so Vanessa got a tattoo of a rose on her foot for me because I'm important to her, she wanted it to be best friend tattoos but I hate tattoos but than again why not life to short and, for Vanessa I'll do anything for her so here I am getting a tattoo of a rose and her name under it" Cami said looking over at me taking my hand. "Hey baby I'm going back to get my tattoo" Charles said walking away. "Okay coming" I said walking over "oh no your not I know that you hate seeing people you love in pain so wait here I'll be fine" He said giving me a kiss. "Your so cute, I love you" I said "and I love you" He said giving me another kiss I nibbled at his bottom lip a little before pulling away he went into the room and right after Cami did which left me and Mads in the waiting room alone.
