it is often said that
'the happiest people are
often the saddest'.
their hearts keep breaking
while others keep smiling
they try to believe and advocate
what is right, what is just,
in a hostile world
that was simply too much
when they state a salient point,
often nobody listens, finding it
barely laudable nor applaudable
yet when they are wrong, everybody
jumps on the bandwagon,
seething with anger, feeling indignant
whilst ridiculing every action
ruled by emotion rather than logic
perhaps what Charlie Chaplin
holds true: 'we think too much
and feel too little'.
for our world will never be a utopia
whilst our minds and hearts are
simply always a dystopia
and at the end of the day,
we'll never go that far
not here, not ever
