All you could think about is beating them, as you look at your opponents you feel nervous but excited.
You look over at Kageyama and it seems he is thinking about something
"Oi Kageyama get your head out of the clouds and in the game" he snapped out of it and focused in the game.
As the match begins, Oikawa spikes out of nowhere, shocking you and your teammates.
"I'm gonna do that again so you should pay more attention" he said
While the third years are calm, Shoyo, you and Tanaka are pissed off while Kageyama didn't seem fazed
Kageyama doesn't say anything and starts to toss to Shoyo and the ball is received by another player that you assume is named Watari. It goes to Oikawa, who was prepared to spike it.
This fools you and Shoyo, you both get into position to block but all of a sudden Oikawa changes positions and tosses it at the last minute, Iwaizumi gets it and scores a point
The ball goes back to Kageyama again. Shoyo goes right up to the net and calls for a toss at the same time as you are preparing to spike. However, also Asahi is getting ready to spike are well
You notice that they are focused on you three.
'If I were kageyama in kageyama's place I would try to dump' you thought
As if he read your mind kageyama throws the ball over for a dump, making everyone surprised while you just smirked
You see him go up to Oikawa and you did the same
"Oikawa I will be doing the same, you should pay more attention for now on" he said while you snicker behind him
It was now Kageyama's time to serve, as it was going it ends up outside and it became Oikawa's turn
'Shit I need to be careful' you thought while getting into a better position
He hits the ball and I seemed to head to Noya, but it shifted slightly to the right instead, but of course Noya receives it.
The ball heading straight to your court Kageyama and Shoyo call for it, you see that they did the quick spike and score a point
Another player goes in for the spike the next move and you move in to block, but notice that it's higher than expected and makes them score a point.
You and the team were making a comeback, as Kageyama starts to toss, Shoyo calls for it but the ball quickly goes to you instead and you score.
Immediately Aobajōsai calls a time out. When you were drinking water you see that Tanaka and Noya are teasing Kageyama about something so you went over
"Kageyama you should stop being seriously" you hear Tanaka say
You glance at your opponents and see that they are discussing about something
'They probably found out about the signal thing' you thought
You went to kageyama and pull him down cuz you were shorter than him. He blushed at the sudden interaction
"Kageyama I have reason to believe that Oikawa figured out our signal thingy" you whispered into his ears
He looked at you and put his hand on your ear to whisper to you
"I also was think that and I believe that also four eyes also noticed" you glance over to Tsukishima and you see that he was also looking at Oikawa
You nodded and went back to listening to what ever Tanaka and Nishinoya were talking about.The match resumes and you were with Sugawara because it was Tanaka's turn to play.
You were watching closely and analyzing every move that they are doing. Sugawara was about to talk to you but it seemed like you were focused on something, he looked at you to see that your eye were moving to every move in the court
'Reminds me of uncle Levi when I watched him play' he thought while smiling at his little cousin
During all of this you were anticipating all of the others move and how will you react to it.
Kageyama serves again but messes up and only barely manages to turn it into a serve at the last second, everyone didn't notice but you noticed..i guess it's a setter thing.
The ball is received and comes back to your side, but kageyama ends up receiving it. Tanaka goes to spike but gets shut down by the block. You noticed this and immediately look at Coach Ukai
He noticed that you now want to get in so he requested for a switch. You go to the court and was about to switch with him, when he said something
"Do your best (l/n) and do this for me as well" he said
You nodded and went to the court.
'I have to do this' you thought, little did you know that will be your down fall
Oikawa was to serve again, the ball goes straight towards you, you panic and fail to receive it.
Ukai quickly calls a time out, he warns Kageyama to not lose his cool and to be careful and you all went back to the court.
The match resumes but this time, you receive the ball. However, it goes straight to Kindaichi, who slams it down.
You try to spike it again, but get blocked again, you start to internally panic, Ukai noticed this and quickly calls for a timeout using up the two timeout of the set.
As you were heading off you just started to scolding your self in your head.
You started to get more mad so the only thing you could do was just knock your self back
You slap yourself surprising your team and spectators. You went over to your team and bow ninety degrees
"I-I'm sorry everyone, the truth is it was my fault that I didn't call the toss and a-am s-scared"
"I WOULD LET YOU GUYS DOWN!" You yell
The timeout ends, you and the rest of the team go back into position.
Oikawa aims his serve to you again and you receive it barely. Shoyo saves it and Kageyama sends it back to Oikawa. Watari set the ball but Noya receives the back perfectly and Kageyama gets ready to toss it.
"Kageyama! Over here!" You tell at him.
You run and jump, slamming the ball past Kunimi and scoring a point, stopping Oikawas momentum
You drop down "hell ya!"
With a seven point gap, Kageyama starts thinking of ways to catch up, showing his agitation. You noticed and quickly tells him
"Kageyama Don't you dare start to get agitated, you aren't the same guy you were in middle school!" You said to him not even trying to look at him.
He was surprised at first on how did you know what he was thinking but shakes it off and goes back into the game.
Karasuno attack's started to get faster. Oikawa noticed and started to think.
The ball soon goes right over the net and the two setters jump together to push it over. You see that Kageyama was panicking and loses to Oikawa making him even more agitated. He ends up making a mistake with his toss but you quickly save.
'Don't do this Kageyama you need to snap out of this' you thought sadly while looking at him
All of a sudden you look an saw that Sugawara was requesting a change, you and Kageyama were shocked to see him.
