It was the next morning.
Maya tried to get Auggie to calm down after he woke up but she didn't get much out of the little guy.
In the end she took him to her bed and let him sleep with her.
He did sleep well and she knew that things were gonna take awhile to get used to.

It was just a little after six when Maya woke up.
She saw Auggie was still asleep and got up.
She went to her dresser and quickly picked out an outfit.
She then changed in Riley's closet.

It was weird being where she was.
But also not.
After Maya got dressed she quickly did her make-up and put her hair in a ponytail.
She then went in front.
She put the kettle on and heard a knock.
She knew who it was.

"Hi Josh. Come in," Maya said.
"Thanks. You're up early."
"Today nobody is waking up. I struggled with Auggie last night and your brother went drinking again," Maya said.
"It's not nice. I know that. But unfortunately we have to put up with it. Why was Auggie difficult?" Josh asked as Maya hand him a cup of coffee.
"Same as always. He is taking everything very hard. His sister is being buried in one week. I can barely believe that she committed suicide at fifteen," Maya said and sat down next to Josh.
"How did you get him calm?"
"I let him sleep with me. But I  truly say that I don't know what to do. And of course my conversation with Lucas just upset me more," Maya said.
"What did Lucas Friar say?"

Josh was clearly mad and he knew what Lucas said.
That it is Maya's fault.
But it isn't.
Not even he can blame her.

"Nothing. Leave it," Maya said.
"If Friar said it's your fault then it's me and him," Josh said.
"Please leave it," Maya said.

Josh saw that Maya's eyes were red and knew why.
She had probably cried herself to sleep.
Which he didn't want.
But he knew he had to keep quiet.
It was too much for her to handle and she just needed support right now.

"Okay I'll keep quiet. Only if you promise to talk to me if it becomes too much," Josh said and Maya gave him a hug.
"Thank you. I will but for now I'm just focusing on other stuff."
"I don't have class today so how can I help?" Josh asked.
"You could take Auggie for awhile. J just need to varrify a few things with your brother and I don't think they want Auggie to freak out," Maya said.
"Okay. Is he up yet?" Josh asked.
"No," Maya said.

Josh pulled her close to him and stroke her back.

"Everything will be fine. You'll see," Josh said and Maya sigh.
"I really hope so."
