~Chapter 10: Walking, walking, walking~

~Caleb's P.O.V.~

The moon began to go down, and the sun showed high in the midnight sky. I sighed in content as the sun struck my fur. It wouldn't be long until we all changed back into humans. Honestly, I'd have given this up any day. It wasn't worth it...

My eyes shifted. I was lying with my head on my paws. I took a long waif of the air, and knew who was coming into the woods. I hopped up and glanced around, seeing that Felix was asleep. I grunted and walked towards the entrance to the woods. There she was.

Bruises covered the girl's body, which made my eyes widen in fear. Her hair was mattered, and she smelled as though she'd been sweating for a year. Her eyes were pale, along with the rest of her thin skin. She looked around franticly, as if she were afraid. I knew she was afraid. I could see it in her eyes.

As Whisper walked towards me unintentionally, I watched her closely. Her long arms wrapped around herself, and started to walk...walk...walk towards the middle of the forest. It was dangerous out there. I couldn't let her do that.

I stepped in front of her, my teeth bared. She gasped and jumped back. Her eyes met mine, and she knew who it was. I wanted to know what had happened to her...Had Felix done something so horrible to this beautiful girl. He couldn't have, could he?

"Caleb?" Whisper breathed, staring at me. I smiled, though it came out as a cheeky grin from a wolf. She looked around and spotted Felix. She'd seen his wolf form many times. Though, most of the others couldn't handle being around any other living thing while they were in their form, me, I was different. I was used to being around my mother, father, and brother the way I was.

I nudged the girl gently with my head. Her hand trembled as she lifted it and made contact with my ears. I nuzzled against her small hand, staring up at Whisper.

Her fingers slowly traced along the lines connecting my ears to my head. She let out a giggle. I kept my eyes on Felix, in case he woke for any reason. "I've come to warn you." Whisper spoke in a throaty whisper.

I winced and tore my head away from her. The pain started again. I was going to change back right in front of her. I hissed to myself and closed my eyes to keep calm. Though it hurt, I wasn't planning on standing this. My paws implanted into the ground, and waited for the pain to throb harder.

Surprisingly, it was over before I knew it. I stood up and covered myself with the jacket that Whisper handed me. I couldn't help but blush a bit. "Sorry about that." I huffed, looking at the girl. "Warn me about what?"

Whisper let her lips curl into a sad smile. She looked up at me. "They're coming for you, for you all because of your Alpha." She took my hand and trailed her finger slowly along the lines. "You've been warned. I must get back, before Christoph sees that I am gone." With a peck on the cheek, she was gone.

~Madison's P.O.V.~

My heart raced as I leaned against the wall. I had never felt something so powerful...Something so...I couldn't even explain it!

I'd never liked another girl, let along kissed one...What was wrong with me? Suddenly, I wanted to hold her, kiss her, and call her mine? Now, something was just wrong with me. I had to find out what.

My eyes shot in each direction. I didn't want to run into Danny. For all I knew, he was playing with some vampire. I started walking, walking to who knew where. I found my feet tracking me to the Nurse's place. I hoped that Whisper was doing okay, because I hadn't seen her since...well, since Hunter had brought her in. It had been a day since that happened.

I rested my hand on the door, my black hair showing its way over my face. I stared at the cot that had a certain drawn over it. Odd that I only felt one human's presence. I walked in, and pulled the curtain back. I shivered at what I found.

The once handsome Danny was lying there, burnt. He'd obviously been exposed to the sun, and wasn't going to heel anytime soon. His hair was damp with sweat, and his eyes were shut closed. His chest moved up and down like a pump, the beeps of machines in sync with it.

I took a step away from the bed as Nurse Line walked in. "Madison, dear. You shouldn't look at him. He's unstable. I've just called the King and Queen. They're on their way to see Daniel." My eyes wandered to the woman. Oh great...My future mother-and-father-in-law were coming, and I was sitting here, staring at that thing that was supposed to be my fiancé. Go figure.

I rushed out, and to my room. I stopped, remembering that's where I had left Hunter. I bit my lip, thinking of the un-naturally beautiful girl. I sighed, walking in. In my mind, I was hoping that she was still there, waiting for me to come back, but she wasn't.

I walked to me closet and opened the doors. Thousands of millions of billions of dresses were in the small space, and that was only a little hyperbole. I let my eyes flow with the movement of the outfits, until I found the perfect one to meet the King and Queen of Maridianna.

It was red, the color of royalty, and covered with golden sparkles. The side cut open, and showed my leg, but that wasn't a problem. I changed, and walked out with this on.

It hadn't taken long for the King and Queen to get here. My father was in the room. I joined him at his side, slipping my hand into his. Danny's parents were beside his bed, staring at him. His mother's face was spotted with red dots of tears. I couldn't see how someone could love something so evil inside, but then again, he was their only son.

"I'm so sorry, you're Highnesses. Nurse Line is doing her best to take care of him. She specializes in many things, isn't that right Line?" My father looked at the Nurse, who nodded quickly.

"Yes, indeed."

"It's all right. He'll pull through. That's our little Danny." A smaller man stood to his feet, and turned around to face us. His eyes were a dark shade of red. His hair was turning white, as my father's had all ready done. His skin was tanned, less pale than most vampires would have been. He stood shorter than me, which caused him to look up at me with a smile. "So, this is Princess Madison?" He took my hand, and pressed his lips to it gently. "It's nice to meet you. You are a beauty, aren't you?"

I couldn't help but blush as the misses stood, and turned around as well. She was taller than her husband, which made me giggle a bit. Her eyes were the same color red as his. Her hair was a light russet. She stood with her chin up, and her back straight. "She is, isn't she? You must look like your mother, because you look nothing like your father, dear." She took my hand and pulled my closer, kissing both of my cheeks.

"I...It's nice to meet you, you're Highnesses." I spoke politely.

"Oh nonsense loves. Call me Tanya, or you could call me mummy." She smiled. I couldn't help but smile as well.

"And I'm Dylan." I took the King's hand and shook it.

"It's wonderful to meet you all...I'm sorry about Danny." I whispered, lowering my head.

"Oh, phish-posh, he'll be fine dearest. They're just a few burns." I glanced back at Danny. His parents seemed so happy, yet their son was on his death bed. I was starting to get why he was this way. They wanted to smile all the time, but now wasn't a time to smile. It was a time to be thankful for what you have. And I was thankful for everything, and everyone that loved and cared about me.

Sorry, everyone. This stupid freakign chapter is jumbled together because I had to use a different program than I usually do, so it looks stupid...Anyways, I hope you enjoyed. What did you think of King Dylan, and Queen Tanya? Any first thoughts? Love you all --Cierra
