Alison's POV

The next day, early in the morning, we held a funeral for Will and burned his body. I stood with Merlin, my arms linked with his, as we looked on.

"I'm sorry," started Prince Arthur. "I know he was a close friend."

"He still is," Merlin responded, not taking his eyes off the place Will once laid. I remained silent, my face set in a blank expression. I woke up this morning thinking I would cry for Will, but I can't seem to bring myself to tears. I sobbed everything out last night so today I just feel empty.

"You knew he was a sorcerer, didn't you?" The Prince asked, and I could tell the question was aimed at both of us. Merlin's hold on my arm tightened when he responded "Yes". I could tell it broke Merlin to say even the simple confirmation.

"You know how dangerous magic is. You shouldn't have kept this from me," the Prince said before walking away. At that moment, with those few words, I wanted to break away from Merlin and scream and Arthur. How can you hate something so much that it clouds your sympathy for a lost soul, a young one at that. Will shouldn't have died. He shouldn't be looked on with the distaste the Prince holds for him. As he walked away, I wanted to pull him back and make him stand until the fire burned out. How is it that you can watch a body burn, and instead of keeping them in your thoughts, you think of one aspect of them? I want to yell that it was me. That the magic as mine. I want to yell that he should've been able to tell that Kanen was dead. As a child, I admired the family, yet as I grow older, more and more of the truth comes to light. I've always been told to respect royalty, and so I do, and I will continue to do so, but never before have I ever seen it as a slight challenge.

I squeezed Merlins arm to let him know I was still there. Mother approached Merlin's other side and squeezed his shoulder. "You should get going," she said.

"I don't have to," Merlin responded. More and more people were starting to leave. How many of them thought magic was dangerous?

"Yes you do. You won't be safe here," I stated, my voice hoarse from the lack of use. "You went to Camelot to be safe. It's foolish for you to stay here."

"What if something happens to either of you?" Merlin asked, facing us fully.

"Then I know where to find you," Mother said. "You belong by Arthur's side. I've seen how much he needs you. How much you need him. You're like two sides of the same coin."

Merlin looked at us before smiling. "I'm going to miss you, both of you," he said before hugging us.

"Actually, you are only going to miss one of us. Alison," she turned to me and took my hands in hers, "I want you to go with Merlin. You will have a better life in Camelot than you will with me."

"No. I can't leave you. If I do, you'll be alone here. Who will help with the children?" I asked. Going back to Camelot is appealing, but I didn't want to leave her behind.

"You don't have to worry about me, or the children. Arrangements have been made. In fact, when you go back to Camelot, you will be Lady Morgana's handmaiden," she declared.

"How long have these plans been in the making?"

"Ever since you left to go to Camelot. I decided this village is no place for a beautiful girl like you."

I moved to object but mother spoke up before I could argue. "And you cannot refuse because I have already discussed with Lady Morgana and Gwen. In fact, it was the Lady who offered the position to you." I looked at her before enveloping mother in a hug.

"I am going to miss you so much," I said. I have never lived away from her. I am both afraid and excited.

"I'll miss you, too."

"Just because I am moving doesn't mean I won't be back to visit," I told her sternly with a small smile on my face.

"Im looking forward to it," she said before pulling Bothe Merlin and I into a hug.

Our small house was slightly burned in the front, but was mostly left undamaged. I quickly put some cloths and other belongings into a bag. When I was done, I stood at the door of my home and looked at it. It didn't look like much, but it held so many moments and memories. I turned to leave when I saw Arthur standing there and watching me. He stepped forward and extended his hand.

"Let me bring your bag to the horse," he said. Although his offer was kind, I couldn't help but be slightly miffed.

"Thank you, but the horses aren't far and my bag is not heavy. I can carry it," I said before moving towards them. Once I reached the horse I rode in with, I secured my bag. Lady Morgana looked to me and smiled.

"I'm glad you're coming along," she said. With slight hesitation, she stepped forward and hugged me. "I am truly sorry for your friend. Sorcerer or not, he seemed kind and didn't deserve to die," she said. I hugged her tighter and sighed lightly. I can tell I may be good friends with her.

"Thank you, my lady," I said.

"No. The only thing I will strictly order you to do is never call me 'my lady' unless you absolutely must. Just call me Morgana," she said. I looked at her and smiled.

"Of course, Morgana," I said. I looked to our left and saw Merlin approaching with Gwen and Arthur in tow. Gwen came to me and hugged me as well.

"I promise we are going to have a good time," she said. My smile couldn't help but get wider.

"We should get going," Arthur said, before getting on his horse. The rest of us followed suit. My horse cantered next to Arthur's. He gave me a nod before we made our way towards Camelot.

Two chapters in one night? Yup. Inspiration has struck and i'm not gonna stop writing until i'm fresh out of ideas again.  I was thinking about writing the chapters and then saving them to publish later, but I was absent for so long, I decided i'm just going to upload all the chapters I write.

This could be the last product of the night, or it could be one of a couple more. Who knows?

My vision for the next few chapters is I am going to take the story into my own hands. I want to establish Alison's place in Camelot before I continue with the rest of the series, so the next few chapters, in case you are confused, will not correspond with any episodes.

I hope you enjoyed!

Don't forget to comment anything about the story.

I accept ideas and constructive criticism in my PM's.

Love Ya!
