STANDING FACING Alec and Jace, the three grin at each other wisely,
"It just looks like a wine glass." Indiana says changing the subject,
"That wine glass saved your life." Jace tells her seriously,
"I'm so glad Clary got the cup out in time, I don't know what I would've done if you'd have died." Alec states, staring at the Omega intensely,
"Me too, I would've never had the chance... if that demon." Indiana frowns thinking back.

Jace gently cups her face,
"First rule of Shadowhunting when something explodes, just keep walking.
Never think twice. Never look away." He says looking directly into her eyes,
"And what's the second rule?" She whispers back breathlessly.

A whip cracks through the air before the cup is taken from Indiana's hand and appears in Izzy's,
"There's nothing a Shadowhunter can't do in heels." She answers Jace's question before giving the cup back to Indiana.

"Clary, what are you doing? You can stare at this monitor all you want, they need angel blood to get past the wards. You know that. No Downworlder can come into the Institute. Not without an invite by a Shadowhunter." Indiana says walking over to Clary who stood still watching the screens,
"Last I checked, Valentine is a Shadowhunter." Clary glared at Indiana, the shorter redhead then passed the cup back to her twin, who placed it safely back into the Tarot card.

"The Cup is not safe here. We have to give it back to the Clave." Alec insists,
"Give it back to the Clave? No. Not after everything we went through to get it." Clary automatically argues,
"My brother is right. The Cup is extremely important." Izzy states causing Clary to sigh,
"Are you agreeing with me?" Alec looks towards his sister shocked,
"I'm full of surprises." Izzy replies.

"This Cup is the one chance I have at getting my mom back. Indiana why aren't you saying anything?" Clary turns towards Indiana angrily,
"Look I want mom back more than anything, but this isn't about mom, it's about the entire shadow world. I want to be selfish and save mom I really do, but I can't. Moms life isn't worth the lives of thousands." Indiana looks down sadly as the shadowhunters share shocked yet proud look.

"We can't give the Cup to the Clave, not now. We need it. It's our only bargaining chip." Jace says, knowing that deep down Indiana desperately wants her mom back,
"Look, I know how powerful this Cup is.
It has the power to create new Shadowhunters, control demons and even kill a mundane if they drank from it.
But I promise you, I will not let that monster get his hands on it." Clary says stepping forwards and looking around the group seriously,
"There you go. You have her word." Jace reassures causing Alec to sigh,
"Follow me." Alec says walking away, Clary right behind.

Indiana follows Jace who takes a seat at a table in front of screens, she goes to sit down on the chair next to him but is instead pulled onto his lap. She looks at him shocked,
"Oh did I not mention, this is part of courting." At Indiana's raised eyebrow Jace continues,
"You know, showing I can provide a comfy seat." The corners of Jace's lips turn up slightly as he says this.

Their attention is drawn by a screen in front of them, as it shows a red circles speeding towards the institute, accompanied by a loud continuous beeping.
"What the Huh?" Alec says as the beeping gets faster before an alarm starts to blare,
"There's something outside the perimeter." Jace says as he, Indiana and Izzy join at Alec directly in front of the screen,
"I told you-" Alec starts but is quickly cut off by Jace,
"Don't say it."

"What's happening?" Clary asks,
"Looks like someone's trying to break in." Izzy assumes,
"Could be the Circle." Jace guesses as they start making their way to the front of the institute,
"Told you so." Alec finishes,
"Too soon." Jace sighs,
"Never a fucking day off is there." Indiana states unwinding her whip.
