John and Sarah had been talking for a while, Craig and Sami nervously sitting on the edge of their seats, metaphorically, while the couple talked.
"I know it's been rough, Sarie," John stated quietly. "I know I got really mad-"
"For a good reason," she shrugged. "Go ahead."
"But I want to make it work still, okay? I'm not giving up just because you went through some traumatic shit," he explains. "Bad days happen to the best of us."
Sarah nodded. "Thank you," she sighed. "Thank you for not giving up on me."
"I couldn't even if I tried, Sarah."
The couple hugged, reassuring Craig and Sami, who immediately fell back into sync and began chatting to their friends again. John and Sarah rejoined the group happily as their drinking and joking started up again.
