Chapter 19

*The next morning. Jim's Pov*

"Dwight, please, do not bring Mose" I begged him. I held my phone between my shoulder and ear as I tried to quietly make coffee

"Why?" He asked me

"Because he's weird. He'll freak Y/n out" I said as I set my cup down and watched the black coffee drip into the pot. I turned around and eyed my bedroom door. Y/n wasn't awake yet

"Y/n loves Mose!" Dwight scoffed

"No sh- wait, what?" I grabbed the phone with my hand and raised an eyebrow. She knows him??

"I've been teaching her German, Jim. Where do you think we go when I teach her? Some sleezy motel?? Her pathetic house?? No. We come to my beautiful home" He said it as if I was supposed to know this.

"Fine. But only Mose. No other weird friends or family. Make sure everyone else is in place, please" I said as I heard light footsteps.

"Gotta go" I quickly said as I hung up and shoved my phone in my pocket. The obstacle course Michael had us do actually helped Dwight and I out quite a bit. We actually had a real conversation about my dating life. I know, it surprised me too. And he's now helping me with my big plan for today. The door opened up and Y/n shuffled out to the kitchen as she rubbed her eyes. Her hair was a mess and she was still in my shirt. Wow she was gorgeous

"Morning" I smiled at her. She yawned and nodded to me as she stopped at the coffee machine. She can't function without her coffee

I kissed her head and went to the bathroom to shower and get ready. After a few hours Y/n and I were out the door and on the way to work. I was so giddy about today I almost couldn't hold it in

"Teeelll meeee" She begged as we pulled up to the building we both worked at. I shook my head but couldn't hide my smile any longer. She stepped out of the car and my heart was racing at a million miles per second. This was it. This is actually happening.

*Your Pov*

I closed the car door and walked around it towards the building entrance. Jim had a huge smile plastered on his face and I was starting to get freaked out

"What?" I asked him. He ignored me and quickly walked to the front door. I kept my same pace and cautiously looked around

"What are you planning?" I asked myself as I watched Jim rush inside and close the door behind him. I grabbed the door handle and was met by a dark front entrance

"Jim?" I called out. I stood next to the door and squinted into the darkness. The lights suddenly came on and I flinched as the brightness burned my eyes a little. When my eyes adjusted I saw rose petals all over the floor leading to the elevator. Creed and Meredith stood next to the doors and each of them held 1 flower

"For you" Creed said as he handed me the red rose

"Here ya go, toots" Meredith said as she handed me a pink rose.

"W-What is all this?" I asked as I nervously chuckled and grew a wide smile on my face. Neither of them answered me. Meredith pressed the up button on the elevator and the two doors opened to reveal Kevin and Stanley standing inside. I stepped inside and stood between the two and looked down at the petals that covered the floor.

"For you" Stanley said as he handed me a second red rose. Kevin had a cheesy smile as he handed me another pink one. When the elevator stopped the doors opened up and the hall was dimly lit by candlelight. I stepped out and looked behind me as the doors closed and I was alone again. I walked to the Dunder Mifflin door and grabbed the handle to open it but it was quickly pulled out of my hand as Michael swung it open. I stepped back, slightly startled

"Enter" he softly said. It was slightly creepy

I walked into the office and all of the chairs and desks had been moved out. Michael and Ryan stood in front of me and all handed me flowers. They moved out of the way and I saw a path of roses leading to the conference room. Angela, Phyllis, and Toby stood on the left side of the path, holding roses. Oscar, Andy, and Mose stood on the right, also holding flowers. They each handed me their flowers as I walked down the path to the door. The door was opened by Kelly, who handed me a pink rose, and I walked in to find candles and petals everywhere

"What's happening" I whispered to Kelly as she slowly walked with me

"Shh" she harshly shushed me. I stopped walking once I came to Dwight

"Dwight" I giggled as he handed me a red rose

"Y/n" he said as he stepped to the side and I saw Jim standing there. His face was dimly lit by the candles and it caused some of his features to be outlined in shadows. He took my hand and his was shaking

"Jim?" I giggled as he brought me close to him

"Hi" was all he said. I felt so nervous and he definitely felt the same

"What is all this?" I asked him. My eyes connected with his and I suddenly felt like we were the only two people in the whole universe

"Surprise" he whispered and chuckled a little. I placed my other hand on his heart and felt it beating against his chest. God was he nervous

"I just, uh, I just wanted everything to be like a movie for you. You deserve the absolute best and this" He looked around and then behind me. I turned to see all of our co-workers had gathered and were watching us with soft eyes

"This is my absolute best. I know that this is really out there and kinda cheesy...but I also know that you love cheesy" I looked back at Jim and smiled up at him

"I think you are the most gorgeous, funniest, kindest, genuine, helpful,  smartest, and perfect woman in the world. From the moment you stepped foot in this office I knew I was gonna fall for you. And fall I did. Hard. I-I know it's soon and we've only known each other for a few months at best b-but I think I've fallen in love with you" His voice was shaky and he had a glisten in his eyes as they began to tear up

Jesus Christ I can't handle this romantic side of him. It's so perfect and cheesy and beautiful and ugh. I feel the exact same way he does

"I've been denying, fairly loudly, that we aren't together because I wanted this to be perfect. I didn't want you to think we just ended up together because we slept together or whatever. I wanted to ask you out in a crazy way and...here it is. Y/n...will you be my girlfriend?" He held his breath and his face looked scared

"Ye-" the lights suddenly flew on and everyone shielded their eyes from the brightness.

"Hello? Where is everyone?" I heard a females voice call out from the main office. I turned around to see a woman walk into the conference room and everyone froze in their spot

Besides Michael and Jim. Jim let my hand go and walked over to the woman. Michael hugged her first and then Jim pulled her to him in a tight squeeze. Angela and the rest of the group stayed put and I studied the woman. She was small and absolutely gorgeous. I couldn't help but watch the way she touched Jim's arms and giggled at everything he said. Wait. Is this. No. He didn't just completely leave me here before I answered to go over to...her. Did he?

"Hey, Y/n, come here" Jim waved me over with a huge smile on his face. I forced a smile and walked over to the pair. The woman still had her arm around Jim

"Y/n, this is my best friend and the woman who you replaced in this office" Jim said as he chuckled

"But not in their hearts!" She giggled. I awkwardly laughed at her comment

"Right" Jim laughed with her. Right? Right??? Okay.

"This is Pam" He smiled

Pam. The woman from the photo in his wallet. The gorgeous woman who worked here before me. The woman who drew his attention from me with just a simple 'hello'
