Luke: You were out running, ear buds in, when you hear your name faintly. You stop, pulling out your ear buds and now you're sure you hear it. You turn toward the sound and see your ex, Luke, jogging towards you. "Luke!" You say in surprise. He smiles and your stomach flips in a way it hasn't since before you two broke up over a year ago. The breakup was fairly mutual, no throwing things or name calling. The two of you just weren't on the same page. You hadn't thought about him in months, but seeing him now made you realize how much you missed him. "Long time no see," Luke says awkwardly. "Do you always run here?" You ask casually. "Well usually I run a little later. I just thought I'd get an early start today." You nod, not knowing what to say. "I'm glad I went out when I did, though," Luke admits, looking at his feet. Again you only nod. "Would you - uh, would you maybe wanna get coffee sometime?" Luke asks nervously. "To catch up," he adds. "I'd like that," you smile."Great," Luke says, looking relieved. "Um, I'll call you," he suggests. "Yeah yeah," you agree, "Um, I'll answer." You blush as you realize how dumb that sounded. Luke laughs. "Wow I've missed you," he breathes, barely audible. Again you nod. "Okay then," Luke starts, "I, uh, yeah I'll call you." He turned and jogged off, leaving you smiling stupidly.
Calum: You hear a knock at your door and go to open it. "Calum," You sigh when you see who it is at the door. "What are you doing here?" You cross your arms over your chest and shift your weight uneasily. "I just came to pick up the rest of my stuff," Calum replies. The cold in his voice hurts, but you let him in. Last week you had thought this was what you wanted, but you already miss him. You expected it to take some time to get used to not being with him, after him being your boyfriend for over a year, but you didn't think it'd hurt so bad. He grabs a box full of clothes, a toothbrush and a few random trinkets he had left at your place. "Okay then," Calum sighs, stepping toward the door, "bye." he starts for the door, not even turning to look at you. "Calum," you whisper without thinking. He stops but doesn't turn around. "Don't - don't go," you choke out, reaching your hand out for him. He turns to look at you, the tears brimming in his eyes matching your own. "This is what you wanted," Calum says bitterly. You shake your head. "I was wrong," you say, your voice shaking. "I miss you already," you confess. Calum sets the box down and moves toward you. "I miss you more," he whispers, wiping a tear from your cheek. "Please stay," you murmur. He nods and pushes his lips against yours, cupping your face gently as your hands wander through his hair. This is how it is supposed to be.
Ashton: You're sitting at your favorite coffee shop reading a book when you hear, "I was hoping to find you hear." You'd know that voice anywhere. It was your ex-boyfriend, Ashton. You look up and smile, setting down your book to give him a hug. "I didn't know your tour was over," you said. You understood why the two of you had to break up, but that didn't mean it didn't hurt. It had been four months since he broke up with you and left for England. "I'm just visiting," he explained, shrugging. You nodded, disappointed that he wouldn't be home long. "But I did want to talk to you," he said, sitting across from you. Your heart pounded thinking about what he could want. "I - well I don't really wanna beat around the bush. I know it'll be hard but - but I think we should give us another try. I miss you like crazy y/n." You smile. "I miss you too, Ash," you murmur. "It'll take a lot of trust and I'll be gone a lot, I know, but, well, I can't imagine myself with anyone else," Ashton explained, "and every day I can't call you my girlfriend just seems like a day wasted." You blush as he continues, "What do ya say, y/n? Do you wanna try it?" He invites nervously. You nod and he smiles, standing up to hug you again. "I've missed this," you breathe into his neck. He kisses you softly. Pulling away he smiles down at you and says, "I've missed that."
Michael: You pressed ignore for the third time this week on a call from your recent ex, Michael and pushed your phone into your pocket. You couldn't think about him now. You stepped into the Starbucks you work at and grabbed your apron, ready to get your mind off of Michael. After a boring hour of serving drinks, the bell rung, signaling another customer had entered. "Welcome to Starbucks," you greet without looking up. "Thanks," you hear a familiar voice respond and look up in surprise. "I tried to call you," Michael explained. "Ya I got it," you reply coldly. "I wanted to talk to you," he pressed on. "I'm working," you state, turning away from the counter. "I'm ordering!" He called after you. You sigh, knowing you technically can't ignore a customer. "What would you like?" you ask with a very fake smile. "I'll take two venti passion teas with extra sweetener," he begins, smiling at you, knowing that's your favorite drink and you glare back. "And, um, I'd like another chance," he adds. "Sorry I ran out of those," you reply sarcastically. "But I'm really sorry! Can you - can you check the back?" He pleads. "You broke up with me remember? And all the apologies here are stale," you retort. "I was mad and I was dumb. Please?" He leans over the counter, his gorgeous eyes pleading for your forgiveness. You can only shake your head, because you know that if you try to speak you might take him back. "Then I'll just take a marble loaf," he mumbles, defeated. You collect the money and make his drinks. "Michael!" You call out. He comes to collect his teas. "This one's for you," he says, pushing the second tea back and meeting your eyes. You could never resist his eyes. "I'm off in ten," you sigh, "one more chance." He smiles and nods, sitting at a table to wait for you.
