I let out a content sigh, nuzzling into the warmth that was surrounding me, and I couldn't help but enjoy whatever slightly scratchy thing was rubbing against my forehead, it was comforting, and it felt familiar. I could hear talking around me, but I couldn't make out the words, only the voices. I recognized them, but I somehow knew they weren't important. This thing that was surrounding me, enveloping me, that's what was important.

"Hmmm..." The thing hummed, a vibration rushing through the right side of my face, and I knew instantly that I was buried in someone's neck. This was a person holding me, and I was nuzzled as far as I could possibly get into them.

"Ri... Come on love we gotta get up." The person said huskily, and I knew that voice. It was something... someone... they were important! Why can't I remember who it is? They were asking me to get up, but their arms hadn't moved from around me, and when I blinked my eyes open, I could hardly see anything. It was dark, it was like someone had turned the light's out on my memories, and all I could see were flashes. Flashes of things that looked real. But this person... they were shrouded in darkness. I moved my head up to meet their face, but all I could see were the piercing beautiful blue eyes staring at me, full of love, and happiness, but their face... it was like staring at a face through fabric. You can kind of make it out, but you can't really know what they look like until you pull it away.

"Good morning love." The man said, because he was definitely a man. I could feel his body underneath mine, even if I couldn't see it, and he was ripped. The muscles on this man... wow. The voices from outside our little haven were getting louder, and I knew we would have to get up soon but I didn't want to.

"Good morning darling." I said, but I didn't feel like I had said it. It was like I was a passenger in my own body. I could feel, hear, see, everything that my body was feeling, but I had no control over anything.

"We need to get up, they're going to be barging in here any minute." The man said, a blurry hand coming up to stroke my face. It was a strong hand, large, rough, but I knew he would never hurt me with it. I don't know how I knew, but his eyes... they were so familiar. I had to know him.

"Let them come. I'd rather stay right here, with you, for the rest of my life." I said, but again, I don't know where the words came from, or why I said them, but I could see on his strange, blurred out face that he was smiling, and he let out a chuckle a moment later that sounded like music to my ears.

"I love you." He said, stroking his thumb over my eyebrow, soothing it back into its normal position, since I had apparently furrowed it at the challenge those people were giving us.

"I love you too. More than anything." I said, and I knew I did. I could feel it... somewhere in my soul that this person... this person was my soulmate. Whoever they were. No. I know who this is. This is Daryl. I know that. I love him. He is my soulmate. This has to be Daryl. But why can't I see his face? Why can't I remember?

"Riley?" Someone said, pounding on the door into our room.

"Riley! Time to wake up!" They said, banging louder, and my head started to pound furiously.

"Riley!" I lurched forward, flailing my arms as I tried to get my bearings. I was in the back of the truck, the thing that had been put on my head had been removed, and the back of my head was pounding furiously. I have a feeling they just ripped the damn thing off and let my head drop on the metal beneath me.

"Let's go." Keno growled. He was one of the soldiers that worked for Simon at the Satellite Outpost. We have to be near there somewhere, right? I scooted forward on my ass until I was at the exit of the truck, and let myself practically fall to the ground, surprisingly landing on my feet and not falling on my ass. I let myself look around at the group of men around me, and the only one I recognized was Keno. The others were low on the totem pole. Simon's group had been practically abandoned by Negan after his last stunt, and now, his group was practically worthless. So, if you weren't in the higher-ups there, you were practically nothing. Which explains why I had never met any of these men.

"Alright. We're going in after Dwight, Sherry, and Tina. They have stolen medicine, and Patty from Negan, and he wants them brought back to him, alive, so that they can bear his punishment. If any of them dies, I will take you back in their place. Does everyone understand?" Keno asked, gripping my shoulder tightly, as if I could run away. Everyone nodded, and then Keno seemed to remember I was here, since all the men were staring at me like I had a third head.

"Oh, right. Men, this is Riley Grimes. She used to be Negan's right hand. Until she betrayed him by informing Dwight that Negan was suspicious of him, and then leaving the Sanctuary with Negan for several hours, leaving him ample time to escape. All this is her fault. Negan wants here with us to show Dwight that he has no friends at the Sanctuary, and there will be no forgiveness for his crimes. She is not to be harmed by us, and she will not fight. She's a turnip. Brain dead. If she gets killed by Dwight or the walkers, leave her to die. Negan's orders." I felt a flash of fear run through my spine, and I finally realized it. This wasn't where I needed to be. I thought it was safe... at least safe enough. Dale wasn't being harmed and I could handle some injuries, but to order them to let me die by walker? That's cruel.

No matter what happens here today, I'm getting the fuck outta here.

"All right. Everyone load back up, weapons ready. There might be others out here, so be prepared. The fight they set has finally burned down, and we know that's where they are. So we're going in after them. Let's go." Keno ordered, and the men split up, and it was then that I noticed how many vehicles there were here. There were three cars in the front, and then there were two trucks, including the one I came in, and a bunch of motorcycles. Damn. Negan sure was pissed.

"Right. Come on sweet-cheeks. We gotta set up a perimeter, make sure they don't escape." Keno growled out, and shoved me in the back of the truck before I could even try to do it myself.

Fucking dickwipe.
