"So, what's the plan?" I asked quietly, once Dale had settled down into a nap after yelling at Daryl for leaving, and I was now using the sink to wash Daryl's hair which was a pretty difficult task if we are being honest. Daryl is like a cat, he absolutely loathes water.

"I think we should go back, help Rick and the others." Daryl said simply, his eyes squeezed shut like that would help him pretend it wasn't happening as I rinsed the shampoo we had found upstairs out of his hair for the third time. He'd probably need another dose of it though before he could be done.

"Is... Is Merle still alive? Lori? The baby?" I asked, thinking back to that night, when we captured them, and I couldn't help but think about who had been missing.

"Yeah. Merle's alive, Lori and Eliza are too." He mumbled, and I nodded, lathering up his hair once again.

"If that's what you think we should do, then let's do it." I said, watching the soap foam up as I tried to distract myself from the thought of being captured by the Saviors.

"If you don't want to go Ri... we don't have to. We have Dale to worry about too, and I don't want either of you in that place again." Daryl said gruffly, actually opening his eyes to look at me, so I could see that he was serious, and ready to leave his family, our family just to save us. But no.

"No. We should... we should get them, and we should run. Run as far away from Negan as we can. We won't be able to stay here, if we do Negan will take Dale and I again. But we can't leave them here to face them alone either. We should take who we can, and run." I whispered, rinsing the suds out of his hair once again, and it finally felt good, soft, and didn't have a strange smell to it.

"Alright. Then that's what we'll do. Let's go. We should find an RV or something, easier to all disappear if we're in one car." he said gruffly, sitting up and ruffling his hair with the towel that had been laying across his shoulders, protecting his shirt.

"This needs to be fast. If Negan see us, he'll know what we're doing. He'll kill us on the spot, and probably kill our family too." I said, tears building in my eyes, but when Daryl looked back at me, a hand still massaging the water from his hair, and determination in his eyes, it was like my tears dried up. With this man next to me, surely nothing bad could happen.

"He won't see us. We'll be fine. I won't let anything happen to us. To you or Dale. Not anymore."

A/N: Okay, so I was going to have this be the first chapter of Part 4, but I feel like I didn't give part 3 enough chapters? So just think of this as the first chapter of the end of the book. I don't think I'll do much more, maybe 15-20 chapters, but they'll be a lot longer than this, more like they were in the beginning ~2000 words. But anyway, this is the beginning of the countdown to the end, so enjoy it, because it's almost over!
