WITHOUT A TRACE

STUCK WITH ME PART 2

Were you able to sleep at all? Barry turned his head to the direction of the voice and saw his dad standing at the base of the stairs.
BA: Yeah. Of course.
HA: Really?
BA: No, Dad. I have been trying to understand the whole thing.
HA: And?
BA: It was like no time had passed. You should have seen her Dad. She literally took my breath away. I was stunned. I thought I had gotten over her but I was wrong. How am I supposed to be around her for nine hours every day
HA: Don't tell me you are thinking of quiting.
BA: Of course not. I'm stuck with her regardless of how I feel. I'm going to go get ready for work.
Barry was about to leave for work when his phone rang. He checked the caller ID and saw it was Patty calling. He ignored the call,waved goodbye to his dad and walked out the door.
He greeted the security guard and entered the elevator to get to his floor. He was about to enter his office when he saw Iris walk into her office. He waited a few minutes before following her and watched her work for about five minutes before she sensed his presence.
She smiled once she saw him and he walked through the door.
She greeted him and apologized for running off yesterday saying it was a family emergency.
They exchanged pleasantries for about thirty minutes before her office phone rang. After talking for a few minutes,she smiled again and told him she had to leave for a meeting.
He watched her walk away and contemplated stopping her from leaving,to ask her what really happened that day eight years ago. To find out why she left,to tell her he was barely hanging on. That he still loved her and to ask her if she still felt the same.
But he couldn't. He sighed and wondered how long he could last before his feelings betrayed him.
She was even more beautiful than he remembered. He thought he'd never see her again but now that she's back,he can't let her leave him again. He wouldn't survive it!
