Patty left the airport in a taxi determined to surprise Barry at his apartment.
She was tired of waiting for him to admit that he loves her. She had to act fast before some other girl wins his heart.
She was desperate but she wasn't stupid. She knew he still loved Iris so she gave him time to deal with his broken heart but she was done wasting any more time waiting.
She arrived at his apartment and knocked on the door with a smile on her face. It was a Sunday so she knew he was home.
A stranger opened the door and for a minute Patty was confused, wondering if he'd moved.
Abigail: Can I help you Miss?
Patty: Hi. I'm looking for someone. I don't know if he still lives here.
Abigail: Who would that be? I can ask the master of the house if he knows.
Patty: That's very kind of you. His name is Barry Allen.
Abigail: Mr Allen? He does live here. I'll let him know. Who would I tell him you are?
Patty: A friend of his family.
Abigail: Please wait right here.......
Mr Allen? You have a guest.
Barry: A guest?
Abigail: She says she's a friend of your family.
Barry: Well, Let her in.
Abigail: Of course Mr Allen..........
You may go right in.
Patty: Thank you.
Barry nearly had a heart-attack on seeing Patty. She ran to him and gave him a hug as he tried to make sense of what was happening.
Barry: Patty? What are you doing here?
Patty: I'm here to see you silly. Is this how you welcome your best friend?
Barry: Sorry. You didn't call to say you were coming.
Patty: I know. I wanted to surprise you.
Benny: Dad? Who's your friend?
Patty: Dad?
Barry: Hey Buddy. I thought you were still sleeping.
Benny: I just woke up.
Patty: Barry, what's going on. Who is this kid and why is he calling you Dad?
Just then the door opened and Iris walked in.....
Benny: Mommy!
Patty turned around to see who the boy was talking to and was surprised to see a very beautiful young woman standing there
Iris: Hi Barry
Barry: Hey
Benny: Mommy
Iris: Hi Moonpie. How's my little prince doing?
Benny: I'm good. Dad? Won't you introduce your friend?
Iris: Benny!
Barry: It's okay Iris.
Iris,Benny.... This is Patty.......
Patty, this is my..... Iris and our son Benjamin.....
Patty stumbled from the shock. She couldn't believe that this was happening.....
So, this is Iris.. she thought. In all honesty,she couldn't really hate the woman. She was stunning and drop dead gorgeous. If she were into women,she'd want to be with Iris too. She was every man's dream and every woman's envy. Patty couldn't compete with her beauty....or Barry's undying love for her and now they have a child...a son.
Snap out of it Patricia, she thought as she scolded herself. Now is not the time to indulge in self pity. She wasn't going to give up. No..not now. Not ever............
