Part 12

Lili's POV:

As soon as we entered Cole's apartment, Ella got a sudden burst of energy and just wanted to play even though it was way past her bedtime. After trying everything I gave up and let her play on the floor until she was tired. I was horrible at keeping her in the schedule that her doctor told us to, and because of filming times changing, she was sleeping in late and staying awake until way later than she should. She fell asleep on the rug and instead of putting her down on the couch as any normal mom would do, I decided against waking up the devil and went into Cole's room. Cole was editing some photography stuff in bed and even though it was weird for me to go in there, it was the only furnished room beside the living room. I sat on the edge of the bed and scrolled through my phone. I didn't have that many friends and barely anyone followed me so it only took a few minutes until I moved on to Twitter. I took the longest I could to avoid conversation but eventually, I was really bored and I decided it was the right time for us to talk.

L-"Cole... uhh... I was thinking that maybe... I could tell Ella about the whole dad thing tomorrow."

C- "I mean if you are ready, sure but you know that it can be pretty hard and it is a lot of commitment we are talking about."

He barely looked away from his work, almost like it was no big deal. I started getting really mad.

L-"better than she finding out in court" I fired back, under my breath.

C-"hey, hey, hey"

he closed the laptop and moved next to me

C- "I'm never taking you to court, that was just my father getting into my head. I would never want to take Ella away from the person that quit her dream for her just because she is my biological daughter. I am not her Dad, I am just me, I just entered her life weeks ago and somehow I felt like she was a part of me but I am not. She is your daughter, you stayed up all the nights while she cried, you cleaned up all her messes, you watched her crawl for the first time, you saw her first steps and you heard her first words. All this while you were supposed to be at parties and living your teenage years."

L-"Well, that is partially true but only because I was keeping a breathing secret from you. And even when you didn't know she was your daughter, you stayed up multiple nights with her just because I had work."

C-"Well the way I reacted I see why you didn't want to tell me. I'm sorry. I was being a jerk, I had no right to make you sad like that."

L- "Well I'm sorry for keeping this from you for three years."

C-"I think that we are even now."

L-"yeah. Actually I could use some time to get the house ready for my sister to come next week, want to stay with Ella tomorrow."

C-"sure... I had some questions I wanted to ask"

L-"go ahead"

C-"what is her birthday?"

L- "4th of December 2013, a snowy Wednesday night at 9:30 pm. I was 35 weeks pregnant and she was due January 6th. She was 4 pounds 5 ounces and she was a really small baby."

C-"wow. When did she start walking"

L-"it was actually the day before her first birthday. I was home alone and was watching TV while she played on the floor. I was so shocked when I saw her walking, I mean she had been walking for a few weeks but only holding onto furniture, nothing on her own."

(They talk for hours but it is kinda boring so... Time Jump!!)

I was laying on Cole's bed, still talking about Ella. I had put her down on top of the bed and was facing Cole, both of us fascinated by the stories of Ella's first years. I drifted into sleep and so was not surprised by waking up with very energetic Ella jumping on the bed between me and Cole waking us up. As soon as she saw us she started giggling at how she woke us both up. Cole started tickling Ella and I joined in and she was laughing so hard that it made us start laughing as well. After we all had a laughing fit, we got up and I went to the living room.

L-"Hey Ella, today you are going to stay here at Cole's and play with him okay?"

E-"okay mommy but I have to get dressed and I need my baba (bottle)."

L- "ill swing by as soon as I can. Meanwhile, you can play for a bit."

E-"okay"

L-"come here" I gave her a hug and left to go to my trailer. There were people cleaning the sets so I was able to go in and fetch my key. My trailer was just as messy as I had left it, so I took a few minutes to find my key and go back to my apartment. Thankfully it was all really close so I got home in a few minutes. I decided to give Cole clothes that he would be able to put on Ella and decided with a pair of light pink leggings, a long-sleeved shirt, and a jean jacket. I decided against her black boots cause they were a struggle to put on and went for some slip on vans. I got myself dressed, dropped her bag at Cole's and went shopping. It was so good to be able to go shopping and not have to carry a stroller and I was able to take my time and try on clothes. I got a bunch of new clothes for both me and Ella and also filled our huge pantry up with food cause we were running low. I cleaned the apartment and got everything ready for my sister to come in a few days. At 5 pm I decided to go pick up Ella. As soon as I was greeted with her excitement I realized that it was time I tell her about Cole.

E-"mommy (she pulled me in for a hug) guess what? I went to the park today!"

L-"really? That sounds like so much fun! "

E-"Yes and then mom, he took me to his friend's house and we watch frozen."

L-"well... I have something to tell you, Ella-Bear. It is very important"
