"how have you been" np asks and they go quiet for a bit before pearl starts laughing

"i know it's just funny i mean i reveal one of your biggest enemies was living on the same planet as you for a thousand years and you ask how I'm doing... But yeah im great" pearl says
"that's nice and i do like the haircut definitely makes you look more layed back although i don't understand the human clothes" np says
"these are comfortable and hide the fact im a gem pretty well" pearl says

"well given your track record you guys don't seem like a talk first type group" pearl says

"hey steven are you alright you've been really quiet" pearl asks me

"alright i would like to know about gem history" i say
"well there's a lot anything specific" rose asks
"oh actually i have something for that" np says pulling a mirror out of her gem
"here this will show you anything it's seen" she says
"oh cool" i say
"here steven how about you go play with that on the beach or something i need to have a bit of a private talk with these people" pearl says
"oh alright just try to be nice please" i say
"only cuz you asked nicely" pearl says booping my nose
I laugh and walk to the warp pad waving to garnet who seems to be doing better on the way out
I go to the beach and look at the mirror "um mirror can you show me the gem war?" i ask but it doesn't do anything
"hmm maybe it's broken i should call connie" i say
"im already here steven" connie says behind me
"woah you're so fast how did you do that" i ask
"you invited me to come over and when i got here no one was around" she says annoyed
"oh my gosh I'm so sorry i just got so caught up with pearl coming back i forgot" i say
"pearl came back? Where did she go" she asks
"no not the pearl you know it's the one i live with she's sorta like my second mom in a way" i say
"oh wow you have two moms that's so progressive" connie says
"well no i have a dad i just don't know him and my real mom died giving birth to me but pearl is taking care of me now" i say
"oh i get it" she says
"yeah but now she told me that my mom is sort of an evil intergalactic dictator that did awful things" i say
"oh well that's...different" she says
"it's awful is what it is and i would have loved to see her but the mirror other pearl gave me doesn't work" i say
"how can a mirror not work" she asks
"it's supposed to show me gem stuff but it doesn't work" i say
"maybe there's like a code word" connie says picking it up

"what do you mean no" she asks
"uh connie i didn't say that" i say

"wait it's the mirror" she says
"the mirror"
"is it trying to talk" connie asks
"trying to talk.. Doesn't work"
"this is getting kinda creepy" connie says
"no one around"
"steven we should put it back" connie says
"but what if it's cursed or something and there's a person trapped inside" i ask

"oh see we need to help" i say
"alright fine but how do we do that" she asks and the mirror starts glowing
We look and see it's showing me taking off the teardrop thing in the back
"steven i don't know this could be a trick" connie says
"well if someone tries to hurt us I'll have you to protect me" i say
"alright fine" she says stepping back a bit
I then turn the mirror over and grab the teardrop and start pulling
Water starts to form a pattern around me and connie gets prepared then the gem pops off
The mirror explodes and the gem starts floating before forming into a human shape
She forms completely with a dress and almost falls to the ground "There actually was a person in the mirror!" connie says
"you freed me! Thank you!"
