Brady's PoV~

I was standing outside Lillia's door at 7 a.m. when Mr. Valentino came to me.

He looked like shit and I knew it was from the conversation Lillia and he had yesterday. She had every right to treat him the way she is, but I also feel like she should hear him out. But it's not my choice.

Mr. Valentino's eyes were filled with sadness. His skin seems paler and his under eyes looked almost purple.

"Is she asleep?" His voice didn't sound any better than what he looked like. I could tell he hasn't been sleeping much lately.

"Yes, Sir."

Despite my answer, I opened the door for him.

I followed after him silently and watched as he lifted the bag he had in his hands and placed it on the bedside table.

Lillia was fast asleep, cuddled up in the four blankets she has to keep her warm. Usually, she doesn't wake up until 9 or 10. So Mr. Valentino has some time unless he makes any noise.

He pulled out the contents of the bag, revealing a bouquet of flowers and a book.

The flowers were pretty and colorful; I know Lillia will love them, even if she doesn't know to like anything he gives her.

He kissed her forehead before whispering something Italian in her ear.

"Tell me when she wakes up." He said before leaving.

And three hours later that's what I did.

Lillia's PoV~

I woke up the sun in my eyes.

And Brady in my face.

"Go away," I demanded while covering myself in all my blankets.

Usually, I wake up content and excited to bury my head in a book but after that conversation I had with Hudson, I feel heavy with guilt. Maybe I should hear his side of the story. Or maybe I could ignore him until he lets me go back to my apartment.

But a big part of me didn't want to go back to my apartment. I hate how this place is starting to feel more than home than my apartment ever did.

"Someone is here to see you."

That's all he said. I felt his weight lift off the bed and then his footsteps left the room. Shortly after he closed the door, the opened again and heavier footsteps walked towards me.

Mr. Valentino's cologne filled my room, thankfully not the scent of alcohol.

"Lillia?"

I hummed in response while trying to untangle myself from the blankets.
