This stupid thing has been glitching a lot. Anyone else with those problems?
Chapter 8: Hideouts
I've never went through so much torture in my entire life.
At least today we don't have to watch the demon squad. Practice after school is on every alternate day, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Coach wants us to do four hours of prac on Saturdays between eight to twelve because we're versing Lakedale Lions in a couple of weeks. Who's awake so early? So today, I spent the afternoon with my friends at the cafe Ty forced us to go. Saying they make (and I quote ) 'the most irresistible, delicious, mouthwatering sandwich ever!'
Yip a sandwich.
"Come on Danny, before its rush hour," the blond drags me in, his voice too excited.
"I'm worried about you bro," Tony crease his eyebrows as the five of us sit down.
I look around taking in my surroundings, we're sitting on a circular oak table, the chairs of similer colour with black metal backrests, it's a small, cosy looking café, very wood inspired and the walls are filled with black baskets holding candles close to the ceiling and white intricate designs cover empty spaces. The furniture colours range from brown to black, a small bar on the end with a bar it, a back turned to us, wiping cutlery.
A pretty, blonde waitress comes up to us and Ty looks around checking we all ordered.
"We'll take three supreme choc shake, two strawberry, extra whip of fresh cream and six, sorry seven deluxe prime sandwiches, two of them vegetarian the rest steak," he tells the waitress offering a wink. She walks away unflattered.
I roll my eyes at the fancy name, all of us turn to the boy puzzled.
"What?" He shrugs unfazed.
"Last time I checked there was five of us bro, I knew you didn't like math but this is bad," Tony speaks first shaking his head.
Ty pretends to take offence, we start laughing when he fakes an injury. That was the worst attempt I've ever seen. Topics get passed around shortly, Tony and Ty sharing embarrassing stories of each other and Becky telling us about her four older sisters.
"Oh, Danny we were at football practice yesterday," Audrey says suddenly and I freeze. Shit I forgot they were there. I was trying to avoid them. Why didn't Bec tell me what happened.
"Yeah, we got bored halfway and left because there cheer squad came," Ty adds. Oh that's why I didn't see them when we wee watching the demons.
I shrug,"You mean the demon squad? I think this is less torture"
"True dat, except JK was there," Becky sighs.
"Dude talk to him already," I nudge her. Audrey agrees.
"Here comes the food!" Ty announces a bit too loud whipping his head. The waitress gets a shock and scurries away from the weirdo I call my friend.
"Well she was pretty," he states,"I need a picture of all your expressions because this is going to taste amazing!"
The boy takes out his phone and I look down at my sandwich as he passes the plates round. Both girls have vegetarian, the boys and I have steak with Ty taking the extra onto his plate. The sandwich doesn't seem special, just toasted bread, sauce, onions, cheese and steak. I pick up a piece and take a bite. The food melting in my mouth.
