                                                   The final chapter

Romero and I were calling Carlos so that we could go to the doctor, Romero wanted all of us to get an HIV test. Today we're going to get our tests results, again Romero called Carlos, he came down and said he's not going he already knows his results.

Romero told him he doesn't know if he does have it, that's why we need to hear it from the doctor.

Romero I never said I didn't have it because I do, see I've had HIV for a year now, I had it when you came to see us. Romero asked me why didn't I tell him we talk about everything. I told him just like he wanted to wait before he told me he was raped, I wanted to tell him when I was ready.

And my mom told me not to tell anyone, Romero said still I should have told him of all people he would understand. I told him I take my meds and do what the doctor tells me I'm okay, and they should go and get there test results I'll be here. I told Romero don't worry about me just go, they left and I went upstairs and changed into my swimming trunks, I know Romero's going to worry about me. I'm waiting for Joe to come over we're going to get married some day I love him.

Xavier and I got in the car, I said poor Carlos I wish I had of known about him, Xavier said there's nothing I could have done but support him. I said I know but still I should have been there for him.

We got to our appointment and we were called in the doctors office, he asked where is Carlos, I said oh my God is he sicker. Doctor Phillips said no and from my remarks I know Carlos is HIV positive, I said yes we just found out today. Doctor Phillips said since I'm Carlos's guardian he can tell me his stats and he's doing very well his tee cells are up.

I asked doctor Phillips is Carlos going to die, he said we're all are going to die some day, but Carlos will be okay, and now back to us. Our results are negative we thanked him and  X gave him a check for our donation, doctor Phillips said this money is greatly needed, and we left.

Xavier said we'll take care of Carlos, we went home and Carlos is in the pool with Joe his boyfriend, they're a cute couple I hope they make it. X asked me did I think Carlos told Joe about him being HIV positive, I told him I hope so if Joe doesn't know he could leave Carlos if he finds out threw someone else.

Romero all we can do is be there for Carlos, after all we been through a lot and we got through it. And some day we'll have a kid of our own, which none of our father's will never see, Rom said things with him and his dad are getting better, so maybe his dad will get to see our child when we have one. I hugged Romero and told him lets get changed and join Carlos and Joe for a swim.
