**ANDY'S POV**
The next two days were absolute bliss. Ashlyn and Blade continued to grow faster than we could keep track of. It seemed that every day that passed they grew a few months older. I didn't really notice much until the third day. Ashley, CC, Jake,  Jinxx, and Crissy had all taken Ronnie out on his first hunt, leaving Sammi and I alone with the kids. We were sitting on the floor in the living room, with the kids laying in the ground in front of us, talking to them and to each other to pass the time until our mates came home. "So," I said to Sammi after a few minutes of silence. "It seems like you and Jinxx are getting along better."
Sammi's cheeks reddened. "Maybe," she replied quietly, suddenly seeming very interested in adjusting Blade's Batman shirt. "What's it to you?"
"Oh, come on, Sammi," I laughed. "Give it up."
"Give what up?" she challenged defensively. "There's nothing to give up!"
"Suuuuure there isn't," I rolled my eyes. "Come on Sam, we can all see it. You don't have to be ashamed."
"I'm not ashamed of anything!"
"Then why don't you admit it," I lowered my voice and touched her hand gently. "You love him, don't you?"
Her face flushed a bit more. "So what if I do? It's not my fault!"
I laughed. "Sammi, I'm not blaming you for falling in love, and I'm most certainly not judging you."
"No, really," she continued, still being defensive for no reason. "It's not my fault. He's just so sweet, and kind and charming and...."
"I know, I know," I laughed again. "I already told you I'm not judging you. How could I? I've fallen in love with a vampire myself. And he's a guy. And he got me pregnant, despite the fact that I'm a guy, too. I'm the last person in the world to judge you."
"Yeah, I guess."
"So, why are you still hiding it?"
"What do you mean?"
"Sammi," I raised an eyebrow at her. "Don't play dumb with me. You know exactly what I mean. I noticed because I've known you for years, and I know Ronnie's seen it, too, but nobody else can tell because you're still pushing him away. I don't even think Jinxx knows."
She bit her lip, looking up at me. "I guess I just don't know how to go about it. How am I supposed to tell a man I've been forcing away for months that I love him?"
"You're kidding me, right?" I gave her a look. "You live in a house full of happy couples, you can't tell me you haven't picked up a few tricks."
"But what if he hates me?" She asked timidly. "I mean, just yesterday I practically slapped him for trying to hug me."
"I wouldn't worry about it. The man's crazy about you."
"Really?"
"Oh yeah. Maybe you don't see it, but the rest of us do. Jinxx would play hopscotch across the universe just to please you."
Just then, we all heard the sound of the front door opening, and a minute later Jake and CC walked in. "Heya guys," CC chirped brightly. "We're back!"
"Where's everybody else?" I asked, feeling the ache in my heart that was the constant side effect of being apart from Ashley throb.
"Ronnie and Ash got into a bit of a wrestling match outside," Jake explained with a grin. "Jinxx and Crissy are trying to break it up."
At the sound of Jinxx's name, Sammi shot me a nervous glance. I gave her a reassuring smile as we heard the door open again, and Jinxx's voice calling outside, "He's your mate, Crissy. This ones all on you!"
Sammi stood as Jinxx walked into the room. She leaped over the babies and ran to him, almost knocking him over in a hug. "I missed you!"
As I predicted, Jinxx looked absolutely shocked, as did Jake and CC. "Y-you did?"
"Of course I did!" She pulled back and smiled at him. "I got lonely without you here!"
Jinxx looked at me, eyes wide. "B-but you had Andy here, d-didn't you?"
"But Andy's not you!"
Jake looked at me questioningly as Sammi hugged Jinxx again, but I just shrugged. "Get a room you two!" I yelled teasingly when Sammi pressed her lips against Jinxx's.
"Oh, sure Andy," She laughed, pulling away from a stunned Jinxx and grinning at me. "Like you and Ash don't practically dry-fuck on the couch, and yet Jinxx and I aren't allowed to kiss?"
"Somebody say my name?" Ash walked into the room, followed closely by a pouting Ronnie. "Your friend's a weak-ass, by the way."
"I am not!" He said defensively. "You bit me, you cheating bastard!"
Crissy, who had came in behind Ronnie, rolled her eyes at me. "You guys are so immature."
"Ashy, you shouldn't bite people," I scolded, standing and walking over to him. "It's not civilized."
"Civilized my ass," he laughed, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me against him. "I'm a wild child."
I smiled and kissed him until a sound drew my attention back to the carpet a few feet away.
Ashlyn had seen Ashley come in. She was wriggling around on her back like she was trying to accomplish some high-ranking goal. As we all watched, she rolled over onto her stomach and got on her hands and knees. Slowly at first, then picking up speed as she got used to it, she crawled toward us. When she was practically running into mine and Ashley's feet, she stopped. Looking up at Ashley, she opened her mouth and took a deep breath. "Daddy!"
Ashley and I looked at each other, jaws dropped. "Did she just say...." I whispered quietly, trailing off as I looked back down at my daughter.
"Yeah..." He replied quietly. "I-I think she did."
Ashlyn, not about to be ignored, looked up at Ashley and repeated, a bit louder this time, "Daddy!!" She lifted herself up on her knees and opened and closed her hands, wanting to be picked up.
"Okay, sweetie," Ashley laughed, still grinning at me as he picked her up and held her. "Don't get your diaper in a twist."
Blade, having realized he was alone, began wailing on the carpet. He, too, turned over and began to crawl toward us. But when he reached us, it was me he threw himself at, not Ashley. "Daddy!" He cried. "No leave! No leave!"
I felt my jaw drop again as I bent down and picked up Blade. "It's okay," I whispered. "I'm right here."
"You know, for a second I was totally expecting him to call you Mommy," Ash laughed, gazing at me with shining eyes.
"Fuck you, Ash," I laughed. "We already established, I'm not the woman here."
I heard the sound of Ashlyn's laughter from Ashley's arms. "Fuck you!" She chirped gleefully. "Fuck you! Fuck you!"
"Hey!" Ashley tried to put on a serious, authoritative face as he scolded her, but he couldn't hold back a grin. "That's a naughty word, Ashlyn. We don't say that."
Ashlyn looked him right in the eye, opened her mouth, and whispered with a smile of her own, "Fuck you."
We all erupted in laughter, much to the obvious delight of Ashlyn. "She's got your sass, Ashley," I chuckled, nudging him teasingly as he tried to get over the shock of having his newborn daughter look him square in the eye and say 'fuck you' like she knew exactly what it meant.
"Fuck you, Andy," he managed to say finally.
"Daddy!" Ashlyn grinned at him. "No say that!"
That just made us all laugh even harder.
