**ASHLEY'S POV**
When I came to, I found myself in a dark, windowless room. The only light came from five bare, hanging light bulbs, scattered throughout the room. The walls and floors were made of solid concrete, and there was a titanium door on the far side of the right wall. I sat up and moaned, rubbing my aching head. Looking around, I saw Andy was sitting beside me, curled up in a ball against the wall. He was sobbing. I crawled over to him. "Andy?" I whispered. "Andy, are you okay?"
He lifted his head, his angel's face shining with tears. "Ashley," he breathed. Without warning, he threw his arms around me, knocking me over in the process. "Y-you're alive!"
"Yeah," I hugged him back, allowing him to cry into my shirt. "Where are we?"
"I dunno. They knocked me out, and when I woke up I was in here," he pulled back, and gazed at me with his brilliant blue eyes full of fear. "What do they want with us, Ashley?"
I sighed. "Well, I think it's safe to assume they want to hurt me in some way shape or form because I'm a vampire. I don't know why they took you, though."
"They said something about me being your human slave."
"That explains it," I shook my head. "I'm so sorry, Andy, this is all my fault."
"Bullshit," he scoffed, making me look up in surprise. "Don't blame yourself, Ash."
"But it is my fault."
"Don't apologize for being what you are, Ashley, I've told you that before."
I opened my mouth to reply when the door opened suddenly, causing both of us to turn toward it. The blonde girl, Jessica, walked in, carrying a tray in her hand. At the sight of her, rage flooded through me. I pushed Andy behind me and hissed threateningly at her, crouching in a predatory position. But she just smirked. "Don't even think about it, vampire," she said, pulling a cross out of her back pocket and holding out toward me. I hissed again, this time in fear, and jerked backward slightly.
"Why are you here?" Andy spat from behind me, and I turned to find he was glaring at her with enough malice in his eyes to make a grown man piss his pants.
"Relax," she laughed, turning on the charm full blast. "I just came in here to bring you food, gorgeous."
I felt sick to my stomach when I realized she was actually legitimately hitting on him. I had to admit, she was extremely pretty. But when I turned around, I saw Andy wasn't the least bit impressed. "Why?" he demanded. "What are you planning on doing with us?"
"If I tell you, what are you gonna give me back in return?" she asked, winking flirtatiously at him.
"Acknowledgment," he replied stoically.
"Hmm," she pretended to think about it for a minute. "I think I'm gonna need more than just that to tell you," she flipped her long blonde hair behind her shoulder and grinned at him. "How about a little alone time with me?"
"Not a chance, bitch," Andy spat, expression nothing less than disgusted. "I'd rather not know, thanks."
She sighed. "Oh, still under his influence, then?"
"I'm not under anybody's influence!"
"Yeah, right. Why else would you be hanging around a vampire?"
"Because I love him."
"Uh-huh," she rolled her eyes and set down the tray on the floor. "We'll see how you feel after he's gone."
"Excuse me?!" I screeched, glaring at this whore who dared flirt with my Andy. "What the hell do you mean, 'gone'?"
"We're starving you out," she smirked at me. "Keeping the human fed until you're dead, so he can escape the hypnosis you've obviously put him under."
I felt my jaw drop. "You're insane!!!"
"Naw, just smart," she turned and walked toward the door, her high heels clicking on the stone floor. She turned and gave Andy another flirtatious wink. "See ya in a bit, sweetie." And, with that, she walked out.
Andy turned to me with a raised eyebrow. "Hypnosis?" he asked. "Under your influence? What's all this crazy shit?"
I sighed and shook my head. "Vampires can put their victims under a state of hypnosis, make them believe whatever they want them to."
"Oh," Andy looked at me for a moment before crawling over to the food tray and bringing it back over to me. Some bread, and some water. "Great, they're gonna feed me like I'm on a crack-pot diet."
"Andy," I whispered as he tore off a piece of bread and put it in his mouth. "You don't believe what she said, do you?"
He gave me a look. "Of course not. I know you'd never do that to me, Ashley. I trust you."
"Okay."
"Ashley, can they really kill you by starving you?"
"Yeah, they can."
"How long do we have?"
"About two weeks before I'll pretty much go comatose from not feeding. After that, it's a matter of hours before I finally die."
Andy's face had gone pale. "A-Ashley," he stuttered. "I don't want you to die."
"I know," I sighed. "But that door over there is titanium. I can't break it down, not if I'm not at my full strength. Our only hope is that the others would find us before I keel over."
"I-I can't live without you," he pressed, abandoning his food and crawling over to me, settling onto my lap. "If you have to die, I'm starving myself with you."
I shook my head vigorously. "No, Andy don't you dare. You have to stay alive, for our kids. Promise me you won't starve yourself."
He bit his lip, and I saw tears forming in his brilliant blue eyes. "Okay."
