**ASHLEY'S POV**
My son was making out with a werewolf. This was NOT happening. "Blade, what the hell do you think you're doing?" I demanded, staring down at his shocked, embarrassed face.
"D-Dad," he stuttered, as white as a sheet. "Wh-what are you doing here?"
"I came looking for you," I turned and shot a glare at Drake. "With your dad after he called me saying you were missing."
As if on cue, Matt stepped out from the shadows. "Drake, we're going home. Now," he grabbed Drake by the arm and began to drag him away.
"And so are we," I snatched Blade's hand and pulled him out of the park. "You've had us all worried sick. Sammi went into labor, and when we went into your room to get you and Ashlyn, you weren't there! Then I get a call from Matt saying Drake was missing, and I go out to find you making out with him in the park?!"
"I-I'm s-sorry Dad," Blade stuttered in a soft voice. "I c-can explain, th-though."
"You can explain later," I snapped, shooting him a look. "And you had your sister cover for you? She practically attached herself to my leg to keep me from leaving."
Blade's face reddened, but he stayed silent. By now we'd reached the house. I dragged him inside and shut the door behind me. Immediately, Andy was there, his flawless face streaked with tears. "Blade!" he cried out in relief, pulling him into a hug. "Where were you?"
He opened his mouth, but I beat him to it. "He was at the park," I said as Andy looked up at me. "With Drake."
"Drake?" he looked at Blade, confusion written in his blue eyes. "Why?"
"I-I was...we were hanging out...." Blade whispered in a halting voice, glancing at me.
"Hanging out? At almost two in the morning?" Andy looked at me for further explanation.
"They were kissing."
"They were WHAT?!"
"So I'm gay," Blade shot defensively, pushing Andy away. "So what? You guys are, too."
At this, Andy's face fell. "Blade, that's not what-"
He shook his head and interrupted. "Never mind. I'm tired, I'm going to bed." And, with that, he wrenched himself out of Andy's grip and ran up the stairs before we could say anything more.
"I didn't mean it like that," Andy muttered, turning to me. He looked like he was on the verge of crying.
"Andy," I sighed. "This is a problem."
"What is?" he asked, puzzled.
"Blade and Drake," I explained, leading him into the living room and sitting down on the couch. "There are rules against this."
He raised an eyebrow at me skeptically. "Rules?"
"Yes, rules. Our world is a lot more complicated than it seems, babe. There are laws against things like this; 'mixed-breeding', is what they call it."
"Mixed-breeding? Ash, that's kind of hard to believe."
"Think about it. Should something happen, should a child come out of this, it would be a completely new species, with a mix of the abilities of two of the most dangerous creatures known. Nobody would ever have experienced anything like it, seen anything like it. No one would know how to take care of it. It would be dangerous, for everyone. That's exactly why laws are made against it."
Andy looked like he wasn't convinced. "Are you sure that's the only reason why you don't want our son to be with Drake?"
I glared at him. "What other reason would there be, Andy?" I asked.
"Maybe it's because Drake is Matt's son?" the look on his face dared me to deny what we both knew was true. Or, at least, partially true.
"So what?" I hissed defensively. "Andy that's not the point! It's still against the law!"
"Not really," he retaliated. "They're both guys, so there's no risk of a baby coming out of this."
I raised an eyebrow at him. "You're a guy, and you got pregnant."
Andy's face changed, and suddenly there was doubt in his beautiful blue eyes. "B-But that was just a freak thing...that couldn't happen to Blade...."
"Yes, it could," I touched his hand gently. "Babe, this is dangerous. There are people to enforce the laws we have. If they find out, they'll kill them. Both of them."
His face went even paler than it already was. "N-no," he whispered, eyes staring at nothing for a minute before focusing back on me. "Ashley, what are we gonna do?"
I sighed, looking down. "They can't see each other anymore. That's really all we can do."
"He won't take it well," he muttered, staring at the staircase solemnly. "Blade gets attached easily."
"I know, but what choice do we have? We can't risk loosing him."
"I know."
**BLADE'S POV**
I ran up the stairs as fast as I could, as if I could outrun the past five minutes. When I finally burst into my room, I saw Ashlyn sitting on the floor, her knees against her chest. She looked up when I came in, and her face was solemn. "Blade! I'm so sorry, I tried to stop them-"
"I know," I whispered, praying my voice wouldn't crack. "It's fine, sis."
She stood and walked over to me, shutting the door and putting her hands on my shoulders, concern written all over her face. "Are you okay?"
I took a deep, shuddering breath. "No," I went and sat down on the bed, putting my head in my hands. "Ashley caught me kissing Drake."
I felt Ashlyn sit down next to me and put her hand comfortingly. "God. So they know now?"
"Yeah," I sniffed. "Ashley's pissed at me. You should've seen the way he looked at me, Ashlyn. Andy too, after he told him. It was horrible."
"I'm sorry," she murmured. "But maybe they were just shocked, is all. I'm sure they're not that mad. I mean, they're gay too."
"I don't know. You didn't see their faces."
"But I know them, and so do you. They aren't hypocrites, Blade. This is all probably just a huge misunderstanding."
"Shh," I hushed her suddenly, my ears picking up soft voices from downstairs. "Listen."
We both quieted, and the deep timbre of Andy's voice floated into the air. "Ashley, what are we gonna do?"
"They can't see each other anymore," Ashley's voice responded. "That's all we really can do."
I felt all the blood drain from my face. They were talking about me and Blade. "He won't take it well," Andy's voice was almost too soft to hear, but I managed to pick it up. "Blade gets attached easily."
"I know, but what choice do we have?"
My ears began to ring, and I couldn't hear anything anymore. My vision blurred with tears. This couldn't be happening. "A misunderstanding, huh?" I choked out, looking at my sister, who's eyes were wide.
"Blade," she whispered. "I'm sorry...."
I couldn't hold it in anymore. I began to sob uncontrollably into my hands. "He said he loved me!" I gasped. "I can't never see him again! I can't!"
"It'll be alright," she sounded like she knew her words would be of no comfort, but she was willing to try anyway.
"No, it won't. I can't live without him. I refuse to."
