On Grief

A/N: A conversation me and RoxyPuppyLove had and she asked me to publish it so here it is. I hope it helps at least one grieving person in the world.

Grief anchors the human soul and lays all the worst things about life and its temporary nature bare.

And everytime it strikes a person,
It cuts a wound deep
Inside that person.

And it takes a while to heal.

Knowing that the person wouldn't want me to be sad, can't keep me from being sad because my mind can't put up with the notion that the person ceased to exist. That they are gone in a void and are never coming back.

It hurts when people disappear because you can't reach out to them in that void and even if you did end up in that void you don't know whether you will find them.

But someday the memories which weighed your heart down will make you smile,
And they will grow lighter day by day,
And then you will be filled with hope,
And the anchor of grief will let go.
