"Sable actually helped you?!" Mera asked in shock once Peter told her about what transpired just before she returned from Atlantis.

"Yep. I was surprised too. I thought for a moment that she would be happy to see me hurt, considering that she tried to kill me multiple times." Peter said.

"So did I. But wow........I guess she's not as terrible as I thought she was. Too bad her little flunkies are still at large though." Mera replied. Peter, who was currently getting water from the jug, just turned and looked at her in surprise.

"Flunkies?" he replied. "I'm rubbing off on you!" he added.

Mera rolled her eyes and leaned back onto the bed. "Whatever you say.......Spider-Cop." she said with a teasing smile. Peter chuckled at Mera's antics. This was the first time she had called him Spider-Cop since he told her about his little nickname he gave himself.

"Funny lady." he said.

"Have you heard from Yuri recently?" Mera asked.

"Nah. She's still visiting her mom." Peter said.

Yuri's mom was one of the ones infected when the Devil's Breath was released. Once she got cured, Yuri took some time off to spend some time with her.

"Hopefully all is well with her." Mera said, getting up off the bed and going to the window. She couldn't help but marvel at New York City when the sun is coming up. However, something caught her eye as she observed the city. "Peter?" she asked.

"Yes Red?" Peter asked, going to stand next to her.

"What is the meaning of this drawing on this wall?" she asked pointing towards a building to their right. Peter took a look and laughed out loud.

What Mera was referring to was a drawing of J. Jonah Jameson, aka the biggest hater of Spider-Man ever known......that's not a criminal that is. Only this drawing had the head of Jameson on top of the body of a baby.

"Ah, yes. J. Jonah Jameson. Super fun guy." Peter said with obvious sarcasm. Mera on the other hand grew even more puzzled after Peter's sentence. "Let me explain. J. Jonah Jameson used to be the publisher at the Daily Bugile where I used to work, and where Mary Jane works right now. He's a grouchy guy in general, but when it comes to me......he's extremely grouchy, regardless if I'm Peter Parker or Spider-Man."

"Why? What does he have against you?" Mera asked.

"Well......while I was working at the Bugile he would always be brash with me just because it was his personality. It was when I donned the Spider-Man persona that he really started to reveal his harsh manners. He views Spider-Man as a criminal, a threat or menace to society, and someone who causes more problems than he solves."

As Peter was explaining all of this, Mera just couldn't help but feel sad for Peter that he has critics such as this.....Jameson person while he's trying to save lives.

"At times, he would often use his position at the Bugile to spread lies about me to people. It was the very reason why I stopped working there all together." Peter said.

"Good, good." Mera said, nodding her head. "I'm glad that you stopped working for that jerk."

"Me too." Peter said. "More on Jameson.....his overall motive when it comes to me is to see that I am unmasked, and eliminated. In fact, he was so desperate that he at one point paid for some scientist to perform treatments on a specific individual to give him enhanced abilities just to take me out. And you know who it was that he hired to be tested upon?" He asked.

Mera, who was already fueling with anger based off of everything that Peter had informed her about Jameson, took a deep breath and waited for Peter to reveal who it was that was tested. "Who?"
