Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!

I wanted to put out a Krampus story for the holidays since he's a Christmas horror villain and I just thought it'd be cool, ya know? I have no idea what I want to do for New Years so drop some suggestions for me! Anyway, love you all, thank you all so much for an amazing year and see you next decade! *cue the groans*

"I had a mild taste for the holidays.

I had a mild "taste" for a lot, and my family was a part of my odd mild opinions.

When it came to my family and the holidays, my opinions turned to the dark side. My mother's extended family all came over for Christmas week. The week spent with Christmas was hell on Earth, everyone fighting or gossiping with each other, my sisters continually giving me shit for not being as successful as them, my brother for barely caring for my existence at all, sucking up to grandma. Sugarplums dancing in his head my ass, he had dollar bills and grandma's inheritance on his mind.

Grandma made it worth it, though. She was a little lady who lived her life carefree and sassily, often making snarky remarks towards my parents, sisters, and anyone who messed with me. She was an immigrant from Germany, and the stories she always told about her home before she left amazed me. She would tell me a story she said happened to her best friend long ago before they had met about the Christmas spirit named Krampus.

"Because my friend lost her Christmas spirit," she lamented to us, "Krampus took her family and town as punishment. The bell he left serves as a constant reminder to keep your holiday spirit up, lest you summon him again." My cousins always cried or screamed when she told them that, thinking it was scary and threatening, but I never did. My grandma and I always talked about and agreed on it, Krampus isn't as evil as people think. In a way, he's a grim way of reminding you that holiday spirit is almost necessary for your life if you want to be happy. Well, at least that's what I thought when I was younger. Now it all sounds like a cheap Hallmark fairytale, but I still love it. Though over the years, I've started losing my spirit more and more, grandma always keeps it alive, enough for me to survive the days at least.

I had to remember that as I sat in the middle of a bickering family over Christmas Eve turkey. What were they arguing about? I couldn't keep up at this point and continued picking the mashed potatoes that grew cold on my plate. I zoned out almost entirely until I heard my name being mentioned.

"All I'm saying is that (Y/n) could use the extra tutoring. If they ever want to run a business like me, it's a shame they're the youngest of our siblings and they're barely passing classes with a B, dad."

"Dude, stay out of my business. What I do with my time is for me to know and you to pretend to care about," I droned, "Dad is too busy with paying bills and paying off yours and Kaylee's college tuition."

"At least you could try to get better grades, what's your excuse for getting a C in Physics last year? You're a senior, get it together!" Kaylee exclaimed, Kathryn, nodded in agreement as she took a bite of the mixed vegetables or rather, organized vegetables on her plate. She took the time to separate everything by color and vegetables. A true psychopath.

"As far as you're concerned, I'm still ranked top 15th in my school of over 2,000 students. Maybe that's not good enough for you, but I don't exist to appease either of you," I snapped as my blood started to boil. I just wanted to eat my dinner, why was I stuck in the middle of this godforsaken argument?

"(Y/n) don't talk to your sisters that way!" My mother exclaimed with a dramatic gasp.

"I see the politeness wasn't passed down to you either," Aunt Kathy sneered. "(Y/n) might do well with some tutoring, might teach them some manners."
