The knife was packaged in a plastic bag on the table, the harsh police lights whirled on repeat, lighting the neighborhood. The neighbors joined each other outside once again. Except, Mr. Fret wasn't among them, he was being shoved into a cop car, the old man kept yelling that he didn't do it, though the cops ignored his cries. Mr. Fret paused, facing the neighbors. He pointed to each of them, "I don't know who did this, but you will regret it!". His threat made the neighbors shocked, after a few minutes, they headed back into their houses. Every one pitied the old man, knowing that he wouldn't last in Prison. Regrettably, he didn't, he died a month later of old age. The detective had discovered the killer, at last. Even though he had finished his work, he still felt uneasy about the results. A month later, he moved on to the next case leaving the neighbors in the dust. Troy was released from prison and collected his money that was given to him. Everyone was relieved that the goose chase was over, but something was still wrong. They pushed the idea aside, moving on with their lives somewhat.

Still, they couldn't kick the feeling that something was off
