Sophie stealthily maneuvered her way, down the halls of the huge mansion known as Everglen making sure to obscure herself from sight, trying hard to blend in the shadows like she'd seen Tam do so many times.

This was life or death and she couldn't fail.

Hearing the soft footfalls of someone else made her fear spike and her heart beat uncontrollably, she was being followed.

She began to race down several dimly lit hallways, all the while trying to be as quiet as possible. Sophie refused to give away her location. Even though the Vackers place was anything but small, she couldn't help but feel like the walls were closing in, it felt suffocating. Her breathing became sporadic. Sweat trickled down her neck as she expertly slid behind a sleek marble pillar, pressing her back to it as support.

She was armed but decided to use it as a last resort. All she had to do was make it outside, outside to the beautiful garden filled with a colorful array of flowers and an aura of tranquility.

She could do this.

Just a little bit farther.

She could see the beautiful gleaming white doors that lead out the back passage of everglen.

The doors. The doors. The doors.

It became her chant, she clung to it as she picked up her speed.

She pushed herself harder, racing to her safe haven.

But it wasn't enough.

Time froze as she felt the bullet hit her back causing her to stumble forward. The gun shot rang out.

Shit.

A pair of hands gripped her torso and Sophie turned to face the person, she knew exactly who it was without even having to look.

Keefe.

Her glare that could have wilted flowers only seems to widen his smirk. It was over.

He leaned in, taking his sweet time and his lips finally brush her ear. It sent an eruption of butterflies in the pit of her stomach despite the circumstances.

Keefe let out a low chuckle, sensing the mood drop.

"Gotcha."

It sends shivers down Sophies spine and he pulled back, seeming satisfied with the effect he knows he has on her.

He then lets the nerf gun in his hand drop to the ground with a resounding thump, echoing through the halls. Her teammates, Tam, Linh, and Dex, slowly shuffle into the room, all with grim faces, aware of their defeat.

"Admit it, Foster, my team totally crushed yours."

"No fair, 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 team had the better nerf guns! Plus Linh refused to shoot anyone and Tam just sat down!" Dex refused to go down quietly, even though his team had clearly lost.

Keefe's grin only widened.

"That sounds like something a loser would say."

He promptly turned to high-five Biana, the two wearing matching smiles and Fitz simply laughing.

Dex frowned as Keefe started shaking his hips.

~

"Uno!" Biana shouts.

They had been playing for twenty rounds.
Sophie had been counting, and every single time, Biana managed to win.

How was this humanly possible?

Fitz attempts to stop her winning streak and throws down a color change card.

"Green" he smirks, so sure that the younger Vacker didn't have a green card.

Everyone holds their breath and a thick blanket of silence spreads over and covers the room.
The only thing that breaks it is the cackle the erupts from Biana's mouth as she slams her card on the table, teal eyes glistening.

A color changer.

"Ha! Suck on that Vacker!"

Sophie couldn't help but grin, as Biana places her hand on her forehead, clearly making the L sign and proceeded to stand up and start moon-walking.
Her very well known victory dance.

One thing was for sure, neither of the Vacker siblings liked to lose.
Sophie could tell it was going to be a long night.

And Battle Ships later, Sophie was completely exhausted.

She walked over to one of the plush white leather couches in the living room and plopped down. Keefe wasn't too far behind, settling himself on her right, and pulling Sophies head on his lap. She closed her eyes for a brief moment, exhaling as Keefe gently rubbed small circles on her back. Soon after, Dex took up a couch across from the couple and then Tam and Linh to their left.

Yep, that's right. Biana and Fitz were still going. Currently, Sophie wasn't sure if they were completely sane, and she knew for a fact that they weren't fully sober.

The blonde craned her neck from her cuddling position to find her two good friends chugging some sort of sparkling clear liquid, (that she was 99.9% sure was alcohol) and then they proceeded to each grab the bat on the soft, white carpet next to them, place their forehead on it, spin in circles, and try to race to the doorway, or at least to see who could make it the farthest.

Not that Sophie supported them getting this wasted and running into walls, but Biana was so kicking his ass.

Keefe absentmindedly twirled Sophie's blonde locks around his fingers with one hand as he watched the Vacker siblings in amusement.

"How much are you willing to bet that Lady Sparkles over there will pass out before Fitzy?" She turned to find Keefe giving her a lopsided grin.

"No way, Fitz will definitely go down first."

Keefe bent down, kissing her temple and pulling back far enough so their noses touched, giving her an eskimo kiss.

Sophie scrunched her nose at the action but later erupted into a fit of tiny giggles.

Keefe shifted to face the Vackers once more just in time to find Fitz ram straight into a wall.

"Why are we friends with them again?"

Sophie lightly smacked her boyfriends chest in response.
