Emilie's stomach rumbled, and she turned over. The sizzling sound of bacon was becoming a steady hum, and her nose twitched at the smell of butter and toast.

She opened her eyes and saw Duusu sleeping on her lap. She sat up and stretched, then she nudged her kwami.

"Rise and shine sleepy head." She said. Duusu sat up and yawned.

"How long were we asleep?" Emilie asked. Duusu only offered a shrug. Emilie stood and wandered into the kitchen. She found Gabriel in an apron; he was cooking bacon and eggs, and there was some toast on a plate.

"Gabriel, you didn't have to fix dinner." She said with delighted surprise.

He laughed. "This is breakfast, love. Not dinner."

"How long was I asleep?" She asked.

"All night. I found you on the couch and decided to let you rest. You looked tired."

"I've had a lot on my mind." The kitchen grew quiet, the only sounds came from the stove.

"Listen, Emilie, I've been thinking about what you were saying."

"Yeah?" Emilie sat at the table.

"Well, maybe... maybe we could try to be heroes."

"Really!!"

"Don't get your hopes up. If it doesn't work... I mean, if we're not cut out for it, we stop. Okay?"

"Okay." Emilie agreed. She laughed. "We're going to save people, Gabriel!"

He smiled tentatively. "Yeah."

The radio switched on. "Attention. There is a robbery on 12th street. We need two cop cars."

"You have the radio on?" Emilie asked.

Gabriel shrugged. "I thought it would help us catch the bad guys before hand."

"Awesome! Well, let's go!" Emilie got up and ran to the other room.

"What about breakfast?"

"Come on!" Emilie ran out the door, and Duusu followed. She took the stairs two at a time, and soon she was out of the apartment. She ran into an alley, and Gabriel joined her a few seconds later.

"Don't do that again." He panted.

"Come on, where's your sense of adventure?"

A small kwami flew out of Gabriel's pocket; it was purple with a dark swirl on its forehead.

"Nooroo!" Duusu shouted as she hugged her kwami friend.

"Hey, Duusu." They pulled apart, and Duusu turned to Emilie.

"Do you remember the key words?" she asked. Emilie nodded.

"Duusu, feathers out!" Emilie clothes began to transform until she was wearing a peacock themed outfit. She had on gray pants and slick black boots. She had on a long tunic, the top was a deep blue, and the ends were fanned out and colored like peacock feathers; a mask covered her eyes, and her blond hair was swept back into a braid, the brooch decorated it as a hair accessory.

"Awesome!" She laughed. She turned her fan over in her hand; it was colored like peacock feathers. "This must be my weapon!" She moved it around in practice battle poses.

Gabriel took a deep breath. "Nooroo, wings rise!" Nooroo disappeared, and Gabriel transformed. He had on a slick purple suit with a silver mask that covered his eyes.

"Looking slick, Gabriel."

"Thanks, love. Let's go stop that robbery, and remember to stay safe."

"I will, I will. Now let's go get them!"
