Colby: That makes me seem like I'm a catfish. Fuck. I have nothing to hide.

Sage: No, I get it. It's fun living in the moment and not relying on pictures and statuses to define who someone is.

Colby: Judging by what you know so far would you want to know who I am on the outside?

Sage: Yeah.

Colby: Alright. So I send the picture. Right?

Sage: Right. What about me?

Colby: I want to see the girl behind the wild hair and green eyes.

Dance butterflies dance.

I was smiling like an idiot. I hadn't thought about moving to Los Angeles. I just kept smiling like a kid in high school gabbing with friends on the weekends instead of sitting in class with their face in their palm—it was refreshing.

It had been a full hour since I checked my phone after sending Colby the first picture of myself. It was one Dad snapped in the studio—I was wearing my favorite overalls and white shirt, curls looking fierce and I was beaming. I had just finished the biggest project I'd ever done. I pulled the door shut since we were almost finished. I quickly opened my phone, butterflies fluttering at the sight of multiple texts from Colby.

I held the phone down in my lap and shut my eyes. This was it, the moment I was going to see what he looked like. My feet tapped the tile as I brought the phone back up. My mouth fell open. The dark-haired guy staring back accelerated my heart. Blue eyes peered into my soul.

Colby: So that's me.

I shook my head.

Sage: You're way more attractive than I ever imagined.

Colby: Thanks

I pushed my hair behind my ear and waited. What did he think about me? He had yet to say.
