As soon as she saw me, she hugged me and I hugged her back.
"I missed you." She mumbled.
"I missed yo ass too."
"How's my mom's car gonna get back to my house?" She asked.
"I gotchu girl, don't worry." Liyah said.
"Hey Mari." Her and Kia said.
I hugged them both before the girls said their byes and Lani and I headed out.
I opened the passenger door for her and she let out a small thank you.
We got to my house and she headed straight to my room. Her lil ass making herself a lil too comfortable in my house na.
"Imma order some food." I told her and she nodded.
"What's wrong mama? Talk to papa." I said as I reached out for her and put her on my lap.
She didn't say anything. She just pulled up the sleeves of her shirt. I looked down at her arm and my eyes widened.
"Lani." I whispered.
"I'm sorry, Mari. I just didn't know how to tell you. I just wanna be good enough."
"Whatchu mean? Please, make this make sense." I begged.
"I love you, Lord knows I do but I feel like I'm being very unfair. I don't even love myself so how can I love you? I don't know how. I know it doesn't make sense but I can't help but feel like this. I feel like I'm slightly falling into depression."
"Why didn't you tell me about this earlier?"
"I was scared Mari. Ion know."
"Why you hiding shit from me?" I asked and I could feel my eyes become darker.
"I'm sorry Mari, I won't do it again."
"Yeah ok. When you gon stop? You actin like imma stranger or sum. Lani, I'm your boyfriend, there's a difference. You posed to tell me bout whatever's bothering you not keeping it from me. Why you keep doin that? If you not gon communicate wimme, then this not gon work." I said and motioned between us.
"M-Mari what are you saying?" She stuttered.
"I love you Lani and ion want this relationship to end but you gotta start talkin to me. We both goin through a lot of shut and we posed to be each other's safe place for a reason, Lani. I tell you bout shit I'm goin through, it's only fair if you do the same. Aight? Promise me you'll start talking to me." I said.
"I promise." She said.
"I love you." I said.
"I love you too."
The food arrived and we ate and watched movies all day.
