"How did you do that?"
"Uh, magic?"
"What?"
-
"How can you see him?"
"Uh magic?"
"Seriously?"

The coffee shop was fairly empty as Jaemin entered with a small bell ringing on the door. His eyes scanned the tables while the delicious smell was making him drool, until he spotted a familiar face. Cautiously walking over, Jaemin greeted Renjun with a smile.
The dark haired boy smiled back, putting his phone down and surprisingly taking off his hood. His black hair flew in many directions, so Renjun spent a second fixing the strands. Jaemin just watched in awkwardness, not really knowing what to say or frankly why he was here.
"So," Renjun began, slightly startling the boy who sat himself across from him, "I have a few things to ask you."
Jaemin scrunched his eyebrows but nodded his head. "Fire away, I guess."
The black haired boy folded his hands under his chin, looking up at the other and staring for a few seconds. Jaemin felt a little uncomfortable by this, and honestly couldn't figure out why
"Do you have... strange dreams sometimes?"
The question was so simple, so commonly thought of, but the context was different. It didn't seem like a normal question, and it made him recall some of the ones he actually remembers. But he played it cool, maybe it was just a normal question.
"Yeah, I do," Jaemin laughed at nothing in particular. "But don't we all, right?"
Renjun let a smile slip, but he shook his head soon after.
"Not entirely what I meant, but moving on. Do you remember your dreams then?" the boy continued, making Jaemin stiffen at the thought of the familiar dialect. It made him remember that text message he got last night, and something about that caused chills to cover his skin.
"Y-yeah, not so often, but usually something happens in real life that triggers me to remember them. Like this one time, something weird happened and when I witnessed it, I immediately remembered my dream... then uh... passed out," Jaemin awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck and turned his head to focus on the workers, watching mindlessly as they ground coffee beans.
Renjun seemed overly shocked by the last part, eyes widening and lips parting slightly, but the boy tried to play it off while he shook his head.
"Why did you pass out? Was it that shocking?" Renjun inquired violently and made Jaemin sit up straight.
"Well... if seeing yourself and not in front of a mirror is shocking, then yes," he said and slightly chuckled. But in no way did the other look amused.
A couple moments of silence passed until the dark haired raised a finger, startling the younger as he pressed a pointy finger right into his chest. Right where his heart would be.
"Did you feel pain right there before conking out?"
Jaemin tried to think really hard about the question, feeling the uncomfortable finger poke right into him. It made him slightly nervous, and for some reason it felt like this boy could read him like a book.
